Walking Wednesdays
Despite the rainy, cold weather, we had almost as many kids walking and biking to school in December and January as we did in previous months. 87 kids walked or biked at least 6 out of the 7 Wednesdays. Those kids all received a free slurpee from 7-11. Way to go!
To encourage more people to walk to school, the February Walking Wednesday prize will be a yellow Lakeview Leopard umbrella for any kids who walk or bike to school at least 3 out of 4 Wednesdays. Walking or biking to school improves your child's health and their attention span, it helps reduce traffic near the school, and it's a great chance to talk to your kids and meet up with other families walking to school. Give it a try and win a prize!
