Online Math Programs
As you may remember from curriculum night, Lakeview is supplementing the LWSD curriculum with two online math programs: IXL (www.ixl.com) and Reflex Math (www.reflexmath.com). Your PTSA dollars have been funding IXL for a year now and will continue to do so this year. Using IXL will give students practice in mastering unlimited math problems on over 2,000 topics. If your student hasn't had a chance to use IXL from home yet, you will need a login and password, which is available from your student's teacher. This year we are attempting to implement Reflex, which is an online program focused on helping students of all ability levels to develop instant recall of their basic math facts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). We are still awaiting approval from LWSD to implement this program, but your PTSA dollars have been allocated for this program this year. If you would like to see how Reflex Math can benefit your student, you can get a two week free trial at www.reflexmath.com. For further information on either of these programs, please contact Sonia Savelli at lakptsaacademics@gmail.com.
