Last Day to Register to Vote in June - May 23rd

The last day to register to vote for the June 7, 2016 Presidential Primary Election is May 23, 2016. Registration forms may be picked up at all post offices and libraries in Placer County or online at www.sos.ca.gov. To further assist Placer County voters, voter registration forms will be placed outside the Placer County Office of Elections entrance at 2956 Richardson Drive, Auburn, on May 23 until 12:00 AM (midnight). Completed registration forms will be processed the next morning. In addition, completed registration forms can be placed in the secure, drive-up drop-off box located in front of the Office of Elections.

To provide better service to voters, the Placer County Office of Elections will be open the two weekends prior to the election. Weekend hours are from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, May 28; Sunday, May 29; Saturday, June 4; and Sunday, June 5. The Office of Elections will also be open on Memorial Day, May 30, 2016, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Elections staff will be available on these days to process Vote-By-Mail requests and issue Vote By Mail ballots over the counter. Voters may call 530-886-5650 or toll-free in California, 1-800-824-8683, with questions regarding the upcoming election.

Voters may find out if they are registered to vote, register to vote, find their polling place, and find election results on our website at www.placerelections.com.

Planning a Special Event?

Throughout the years, event planners and service organizations have been looking for a comprehensive "Community Calendar" where they could advertise their events, or to check to make sure there are no other events planned for the same day.

With the City's new website, we now have such a tool in place! And the process is simple.

Simply click here to submit your event right now. Instructions are very easy to follow.

If you should have any problems submitting your event, please contact the City's Public Information Officer, Jill Thompson, at (916) 434-2448 and she will be happy to walk you through the process.

It is our hope that by using this tool, all City service organizations and event planners will get more exposure for their special events, and that by avoiding multiple events on the same day, each event will be well attended and a huge success!
