California ISO Officials Break Ground for New Lincoln Backup Center
California ISO officials, joined by City officials, broke ground yesterday for a new California  ISO Lincoln Operations and Data Center, to be located at 500 Business Park Drive in Lincoln.

"The Lincoln AirCenter Business Park is a tremendous location in this region, with robust, existing infrastructure and excellent access," said Lincoln Mayor Paul Joiner.  "We are thrilled Cal ISO has chosen to establish a new state-of-the-art operations center here."

The center, slated for construction on a 3.3-acre site, will house the ISO's backup operations, replacing the current facility currently located in Alhambra, CA. The Lincoln facility will improve operations and logistics with the ISO's headquarters in Folsom, and will primarily be used to respond during an incident if the Folsom control center is unavailable.

The new center is scheduled for completion in December 2016, weather permitting. It will be a two-story, 35,000-square-foot mixed-use building with data and operations systems, and flexible work space, with a modern, functional design.
