As required by the state, the City Council has adopted regulations and restrictions that are in compliance with the new state regulations. The following regulations on the delivery and consumption of water were adopted by City Council on May 26, 2015 and are effective immediately:

  2. Outdoor irrigation of non-residential properties is limited to no more than two days per week. These properties may water on Monday and Thursday.
  3. Outdoor irrigation is permitted on the designated calendar days from the hours of midnight to 8:00 a.m. and from 9:00 p.m. until midnight.
  4. Fountains and other decorative water features must use a recirculating system.
  5. Outdoor irrigation of any kind is prohibited during and up to 48 hours after measureable rainfall.
  6. Hotel and motel operators shall provide guests with the option of not having towels and linens laundered daily and shall display a notice of this option in each bathroom.
  7. Restaurants shall provide drinking water only upon request.
  8. Hosing off driveways, patios, sidewalks and other hard surfaces is prohibited.
  9. Irrigation so as to cause runoff onto hard surfaces, gutters or other property is prohibited.
  10. Irrigation of ornamental turf on public medians with potable water is prohibited.
