 Lincoln Hires New City Manager

Lincoln Mayor Paul Joiner announced today that the City Council has appointed Matthew Brower to the position of Lincoln City Manager. Mayor Joiner made the announcement on behalf of the Lincoln City Council.

Brower, 47, will be paid an annual salary of $193,500.

"Matt is an experienced, well-educated manager who possesses the strengths, high energy and vision that the City Council, residents, and City employees felt necessary for a City Manager who can help take Lincoln to the next level," said Mayor Joiner. "With 18 years of experience in city government, he is a man of high integrity, strong interpersonal skills, and has experience in both development and economic development within growing communities. These qualities, combined with proven leadership in a large organization, are all critical components to guiding our City in the years to come."

The City Council formally approved Brower's employment agreement January 27th at their regularly scheduled Council meeting. Brower most recently served as City Manager for the City of Ocala, Florida, and has prior to that served as the City Manager for Santa Clara City, Utah. He will begin working for the City on February 9th.

Brower received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Utah, and his Master of Public Administration degree from Florida State University.

Matt and his wife Sandra have two sons and one daughter, and will be moving to Lincoln in the very near future.

He will replace Interim City Manager Bill Zenoni, who replaced City Manager Jim Estep who retired in August of 2014.

"The City Council would like to publicly thank Interim City Manager Bill Zenoni for doing such a remarkable job of running the City during our search for a full-time City Manager," Joiner said. "His integrity, skills, and personality were exactly what the City needed to keep the City moving forward during the recruitment process."
