City Council Adopts Budget for Fiscal Year 2013-2014

At last night's Lincoln City Council meeting, Council adopted the City budget for Fiscal Year 2013-14.

Highlights from the newly adopted budget include:

The reopening of Fire Station #33. The newly adopted budget allows for the hiring of two new fire personnel that will allow the fire department to switch from a three-person per truck to a two-person per truck model. This change will provide for staffing to operate all three fire stations.

In addition, Council accepted a generous donation from the Friends of the Lincoln Library to support Friday hours at the Twelve Bridges Library this summer.

Twelve Bridges Library will be open to the public from 1 - 5 pm on the following Fridays this summer:

June 14, June 21, June 28

July 12, July 19, July 26

August 2, August 9, August 16, August 23

These hours are in addition to the current library schedule:

Tuesday, 1 - 7 pm

Wednesday, 1 - 7 pm

Thursday, 10 am - 5 pm

Saturday, 1 - 5 pm

The City would like to thank the Friends of the Lincoln Library for this generous donation, providing additional time for Lincoln families to use the library while school is out,  and providing children more opportunity to participate in the Summer Reading Program.
