Work on Highway 65 freeway entrance in Lincoln delayed until Spring
Late-fall storms and the approaching winter season will delay realignment of the Lincoln Boulevard on-ramp to southbound State Highway 65, the Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announced today.
Construction work on the freeway entrance, currently known as the "S" curve, and the installation of a new traffic signal now are scheduled to occur in the Spring. A new date for construction, which will require the closure of the ramp for about a month, will depend on the weather.
The postponement means Lincoln Boulevard between Twelve Bridges and the Highway 65 overcrossing will remain closed to through traffic. The planned work is part of the $325 million Highway 65 Lincoln Bypass project, which opened to traffic on October 7.
