Highway 65 Entrance to Close Temporarily

Highway 65 freeway entrance to close temporarily in Lincoln

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is alerting motorists the Lincoln Boulevard on-ramp to southbound State Highway 65 will be closed through early January due to construction.

The closure is scheduled to begin late Monday, November 19, or early Tuesday, and continue through January 11, 2013. A contractor is scheduled to complete construction of a revamped freeway entrance and the installation of a new traffic signal.

To reach southbound Highway 65, motorists can continue south on Lincoln Boulevard (old Industrial Avenue) and turn left at Twelve Bridges Drive to reach the freeway interchange. Motorists also can use the Ferrari Ranch interchange at the new Lincoln Bypass.

During this construction activity, Lincoln Boulevard between Twelve Bridges and the Highway 65 overcrossing, will remain closed to northbound traffic. The work is part of the $325 million Highway 65 Lincoln Bypass project, which opened to traffic on October 7.

Roadside message boards will post the latest updates. Unexpected weather or other events may prolong or cause the work to be rescheduled. Caltrans urges motorists to use caution in this area and to "Slow for the Cone Zone".
