Kaarina Talvila lives on the West Coast of Canada in beautiful Vancouver, BC. She'll be with us for the opening reception so help us give her a warm, Berks County welcome!

She has worked through many designs and techniques, using silk and, more recently, paper, to produce a variety of 'containers', which range from purses to boxes and something in between.

Along with her silk pieces, she has also started incorporating reclaimed materials into some of her paper work. Whatever the material, though, her pieces are characterized by precision and exactness and display some of the harmony and balance that she admires so much in Japanese craft.
