Tips for Alaskan Visual Artists: How to Submit your Work

If you haven't heard about CaFE yet, check out their website at www.callforentry.org. CallforEntry.org™, also known as CaF™ , is a Web-based service that allows organizations and administrators to easily and cost-effectively manage artist-application and jury processes related to calls for entry and other events. The service is especially designed for use with public art projects, artist fellowships, juried visual-arts competitions, and many other types of calls for entry.

The first step to submit your work for consideration, set up a user profile on www.callforentry.org . It's easy, and the only way to apply for this and many other art calls.

Make some great art! Our state-wide jury will be looking at all media, with an eye towards durability and suitability for public settings.

Then take some good-quality, well-lit, unclutterred digital photographs that show your work at its best.

Upload these photos to your CaFE profile. Don't fear: CaFE provides technical help with formatting your images, help forums, and FAQs on their site to walk you through this step. They have also eased their image formatting requirements, so no need to "square" your images anymore!

Find the call for art for the Alaska Contemporary Art Bank on CaFE, and apply for the call. It's free and will open doors for you to many other opportunities. This particular call on CaFE's website will have a lot more information for you. This info blast is just to help you get started.
