Massachusetts Earned Sick Time - Are You Sick Of It?

The MA Earned Sick Time law will go into effect on July 1, 2015.  Final regulations were posted Friday June 19th by the Massachusetts Attorney General's office. 
 
  
money trap Rhode Island Minimum Wage to Increase to $9.60 Effective January 1, 2016

 

RI Governor Gina Raimondo signed legislation on June 17th to raise the state minimum wage from $9.00 to $9.60 per hour on January 1, 2016. The legislation-H. 5074A/S. 0194A-sponsored by Sen. Erin P. Lynch and Rep. David A. Bennett, passed both chambers of the Rhode Island General Assembly.

Connecticut Online Privacy Law Takes Effect on October 1st!

 

CT Governor Dannel Malloy has signed a bill making CT the latest state to prohibit employers from requiring or requesting employees or applicants to produce usernames or passwords to personal online or social media accounts.  Connecticut joins 15 other states that have enacted some form of social media privacy legislation.

Final SBC Regulations Released for September 1, 2015 Effective Date

 

The IRS, DOL, and HHS have issued final regulations addressing health care reform's summary of benefits and coverage (SBC) requirement. The final regulations, which generally apply to group health plans for plan years beginning on or after September 1, 2015, amend the 2012 final regulations and largely track the December 2014 proposed regulations.
