Fifth, our former board member turned playwright, Barry Weinburg has announced a 'staged reading' and you can read read the complete announcement below:

On June 13, 2015, Our Town Theatre in Oakland will present my prize-winning play, "End Papers."  The performance will start at 7:00 p.m.

This will be a staged reading, where the actors on stage read their parts from their scripts.

In "End Papers," men are no match for Kathy, who is the wrong woman to push to the end of her rope.  End Papers is the name of the bookstore where Kathy works, where she fights to take control of her life, and where she plots to get even with the men who victimized her.  Kathy's story is one of courage, humor, wit and tenacity, all rolled up in one terrific lady.

End Papers was produced by the Little Theatre of Mechanicsburg (PA) in 2014 after it won the American Association of Community Theatre's NewPlayFest, a nationwide contest.  End Papers also was been chosen by the Baltimore Playwrights Festival, the Reston (Virginia) Community Players' New Play Project, and the Atlantic Stage (South Carolina) New Play Festival.

There is no charge for admission to the reading, but contributions to Our Town Theatre will be appreciated.

I hope to see you there.
