 PRB News

Dear POA MEMBERS:

I would like to call your attention to two documents that have recently been provided to me that I consider worth your time and attention. Both documents are currently available under "PRB News" on our website at  www.deepcreeklakepoa.com .

First, the Department of Natural Resources has provided via the Policy Review Board (PRB) a document entitled, "Deep Creek Lake Frequently Asked Questions, January 2013". This paper provides very useful information as to how tax dollars are spent in support of our lake, as well as information concerning sedimentation, submerged aquatic vegetation, and more. Definitely worth a read.

Second, David Myerberg, Chairman of the PRB, provided his "Chairman's Report" at the quarterly meeting on Monday, January 28, 2013. His report details efforts he has made recently through discussions with DNR and Maryland Department of the Environment Officials in support of the development of a comprehensive Deep Creek Lake (DCL) Watershed Management Plan. A very comprehensive report again worth reading.

I should add here that members of your Board of Directors and I have met with the County Commissioners as well as other County Officials over the last several months to present and discuss a DCL POA sponsored concept for the development of a Watershed Management Plan. The dialogue we have established is continuing. I am gratified in the knowledge that the DNR, MDE, PRB, County, and POA appear to be moving in the same direction for the good of the DCL community.

One final note: We are working to improve communications with all of our members. The website is being updated and upgraded for not only you the members, but also the general public. eBlasts such as this one are sent to members only and only those members whose email address is active with Constant Contact. We encourage you to share this eBlast with any member you know who does not receive electronic communications as well as your friends --invite them to join the POA! You can forward this eBlast by clicking on the 'Forward email' below. Thank You

Sincerely,
