Green Garage Certification Launches
GPC IPI logo

After three years of research, development, and benchmarking, the Green Parking Council officially launched Green Garage Certification at the 2014 IPI Conference & Expo in Dallas.

Green Garage Certification, already called the LEED of parking facilities, offers a road map and recognition opportunity for sustainability initiatives. Check out this week's Green Parking Council newsletter for free program resources, access to the Green Garage Certification Standard, an introduction to how you can train to become a Green Garage Assessor, and highlights of the media coverage surrounding Green Garage Certification; also sign up for green parking updates from the Green Parking Council

The Green Garage Certification Standard is the detailed reference manual for Green Garage Certification, defining and recognizing sustainable practices in parking structure management, programming, design, and technology. It is used in conjunction with the Green Garage Certification Program Guide, a regularly updated, free document explaining the application process, achievement levels, program costs and any program updates.  The Standard is available in both hard copy and e-book formats. Get more information here.

We welcome these talented individuals and know that their passion for IPI and our profession will open new opportunities for our continued growth.

Summer is Hot and So is E-Learning

Check out IPI's online courses and training.  We have six courses with more on the way!  E-learning can produce great results, decrease costs, and improve performance.  Unlike instructor-led, face-to-face courses, IPI's e-learning courses are available for six months from the date of purchase. This ongoing access to resources proves beneficial and offers better return on investment, as the course can act as a job aide.  Because e-learning is not bound by geography or time, the course(s) can be completed at your convenience.  Costs are decreased as travel expenses are not applicable.  E-learning allows the learner to try and try again if an interaction is not completed correctly the first time.  E-learning allows the learner to answer questions honestly without the fear of failure.

Britain's Open University's "study found that producing and providing distance learning courses consumes an average of 90 percent less energy and produces 85 percent fewer CO2 emissions per student than conventional face-to-face courses."

IPI offers special pricing for bulk order purchases of more than five courses.  Contact Lauri Chudoba to learn more.
