Congressional Budget Office Summer Internship Program


Congressional Budget Office (CBO) summer internships provide excellent opportunities to experience and observe the budget process and policymaking at the federal level. The internships are located in Washington, D.C. They normally last 10 weeks, beginning after Memorial Day. Interns contribute to CBO's work in program areas such as budget and tax policy, health care, national defense, the environment, education, retirement and other income assistance, regulation and public investment. In addition, interns participate in an educational program that includes briefings on CBO's role in the budget process. CBO interns may also participate in seminars, such as the Congressional Summer Intern Lecture Series.

Harvard University Graduate School of Design Career Discovery Program

 
Career Discovery is a six-week summer program at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design (GSD).  The program welcomes people, from recent high school and college graduates to seasoned professionals, with an interest in design or planning.  A high level of academic skill is necessary to take full advantage of our program.The program dates are June 15 - July 24, 2015. 

Every Career Discovery student is exposed to the following disciplines, but will select one as a concentration; Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning and Urban Design.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, beginning February 2 to May 1, 2015, or until all spots in the program are filled.  Early submissions are strongly encouraged. For more information, please click here.

Postdoctoral Fellowships

 

The NASA Postdoctoral Program offers scientists and engineers unique opportunities to conduct research in Earth science, heliophysics, astrophysics, planetary science, astrobiology, space bioscience, aeronautics and engineering, human exploration and operations, and space technology.

 

U.S. citizens, Lawful Permanent Residents, and foreign nationals eligible for J-1 status as a Research Scholar may apply. Applications are accepted March 1, July 1 and November 1, each year. Stipends start at $53,500 per year, with supplements for high cost-of-living areas and certain academic specialties. Financial assistance is available for relocation and health insurance and $8,000 per year is provided for professional travel.

Harvard School of Public Health Summer Internship Programs

 

Fostering Advancement & Careers through Enrichment Training in Science (FACETS):

 

This 6-week program provides exposure to the social and quantitative sides of public health. Students can select their area of interest ranging from global health and population to health policy and management to nutrition. Typical backgrounds include everything from social to biological to quantitative science backgrounds. For more information, please click here.

Summer Program in Biological Sciences:

  This is a 9-week lab-based program is in the Department of Immunology and Infectious Diseases.  The goal is to expose college science students to the rewards of laboratory research directed toward solving important public health problems. Summer Program in Epidemiology:   

The 4-week program in the Department of Epidemiology integrates mathematics and quantitative methods to provide students with an understanding of the skills and processes necessary to pursue a career in epidemiology and public health. TCU/VISTA Program

What is a TCU/VISTA? Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs) were created in response to the higher education needs of American Indians and generally serve geographically isolated populations that have no other means of accessing education beyond the high school level. AmeriCorps Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) is often described as domestic Peace Corps and seeks to fight poverty in America.

TCU/VISTAs serve on behalf of the TCU/VISTA Program under the supervision of a faculty or staff member to build capacity at the respective institution. TCU/VISTA members are part of a larger national team that provides supplementary training, support, and  connection to fellow VISTAs and partners.

American Indian Education Foundation Scholarship

The American Indian Education Foundation (AIEF) is now accepting applications for the 2015-2016 American Indian Education Foundation Scholarship.  The $2,000 scholarship is offered to those students who are enrolled Tribal members or to those who are a descendent to a federally recognized American Indian tribe.  The applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited 2 or 4 year college/university or technical/vocational school in order to receive the scholarship.

The deadline to submit the application is April 4, 2015.  We do encourage students to get their application in by March 1, 2015 to receive an extra scholarship point. This extra point could be the point needed to get the award! For more information, please click here.
The National Native American Bar Association (NNABA) Foundation Scholarship

The National Native American Bar Association (NNABA) Foundation is pleased to announce an inaugural round of scholarships will be awarded in April 2015. This year, the NNABA Foundation will award four (4) $2500 scholarships.

The NABA Foundation awards scholarships on a nationwide basis to current and incoming law students who demonstrate a commitment to serve or contribute to the Native American community as future leaders.

Summer Analyst Program


The Leadership Pipeline Summer Analyst Program is a non-rotational internship that provides exposure to Wholesale Services and various Wholesale Banking business segments. The 10- to 12-week program focuses on practical learning experiences and provides insights into Wells Fargo's operations, business strategies and corporate culture.

Positions are available in San Francisco, Minneapolis and Charlotte, N.C. Based on candidate preference and business need, we will place summer analysts in sales and client services, project management, finance or technology.

Summer Medical and Dental Education Program

The Summer Medical and Dental Education Program (SMDEP) is a free six-week academic enrichment summer program for freshmen and sophomore college students from racial and ethnic groups that have been historically underrepresented in medicine and dentistry-African American, Hispanic/Latino and American Indian.

SMDEP is hosted at 12 participating institutions (nine medical and dental sites and three medical only sites) across the country, with 80 students at each site. During the six-week program, students are exposed to a variety of academic and career development opportunities aimed at strengthening their profiles as competitive applicants for health professional and graduate schools.

SMDEP is funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the program is administered by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) and the American Dental Education Association (ADEA).
