Indian Arts Research Center Paid Museum Studies Internship The School for Advanced Research, Indian Arts Research Center, (IARC) offers two nine-month internships (September 1-May 31) to individuals who are recent college graduates, current graduate students or junior museum professionals interested in furthering their professional museum experience and enhancing their intellectual capacity for contributing to the expanding field and discourse of museum studies. The internships include a monthly salary, housing, book allowance, travel to one professional conference and reimbursable travel to and from SAR. Click here for more information. Washington Internships
for Native Students
The Washington Internships for Native Students (WINS) offers students of American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian (AI/AN/NH) nations the opportunity to build leadership and advocacy skills, while living, studying and interning in Washington, DC. Developed in response to the White House Initiative on American Indians and Alaska Natives, this enriching program offers qualified students full scholarships funded by American University and sponsoring organizations.
WINS students intern with Native advocacy and government agencies, across Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Health, Economic, Social Service, Law and Public Policy disciplines. WINS's experiential curriculum develops students' professional skills of self-determined community development and public advocacy.

Tribal Colleges and Universities VISTA Program
Join the TCU/VISTA Team to foster Economic Development, Healthy Futures and Environmental Stewardship in Indian Country.
In 2014, the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) agreed to fund VISTA volunteer positions to support work in Indian Country. Additional funds were secured through USDA to support these positions. Thus, the Tribal Land-Grant Development Initiative was developed to implement to pilot program and fund an provide professional development of participating TCU/VISTAs. The nine TCU/VISTAs will include a TCU/VISTA Team Lead and eight TCU/VISTAs, to work at 1994 Land-Grant Tribal Colleges and Universities across the nation.

National Academies Sustainability Fellowship
The Science and Technology for Sustainability Program (STS) of the National Academies will be hosting two rising college seniors as fellows during the summer of 2014. The fellowship is designed for students to learn about sustainability in the context of science and technology and will provide the opportunity for them to conduct research on a topic based on sustainability science and technology.
- Applicants must be a rising senior, at an accredited 4-year college or university, and be US citizens or permanent residents.
- Fellows will receive a stipend of $3375, to cover living expenses, but will not receive travel/relocation expenses.
- The fellowship will run from June 16-July 25, 2014.
- Fellows will be based at the National Academies' Keck Center in downtown Washington, DC.
- Applicants should have some knowledge of scientific concepts.

 | The LAGRANT Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship |
The LAGRANT Foundation's (TLF) is now accepting applications for the 2014 scholarship! Undergraduate (current freshmen, sophomores, juniors and non-graduating seniors ONLY!) applicants meeting the following criteria and completing the application will be considered for The LAGRANT Foundation (TLF) scholarship in the amount of $2,500:
Criteria:- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Must be a member of one of the following ethnic groups: African American/Black, Asian American/Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino or Native American/American Indian
- Must be a full-time student at a four-year, accredited institution, carrying a total of 12 units or more per semester/quarter
- Must have a minimum of 2.75 GPA
- MUST major in a field of study that has an emphasis on public relations, marketing or advertising. Additional majors that also qualify are art, anthropology, communications, English, graphic design and sociology - while demonstrating a career path in advertising, marketing or public relations.
- Must have at least one year to complete his/her degree from the time the scholarships are awarded.

Capital Fellows Program

The Capital Fellows Programs offer a unique opportunity to participate in policymaking and development. Fellows work for 10-11 months as full-time, paid staff members in the California State Assembly, California State Senate, California Executive Branch or the California Judiciary. Fellows actively engage in public service and prepare for future careers, while gaining firsthand experience in the governance and leadership of the most diverse, complex state in the nation.
Prospective Capital Fellows must have a bachelor's degree (in any major), by September 1, 2014, and a demonstrated interest in California state government and public service. Applicants may apply to one or more of the programs that meet their interests and qualifications. Recent graduates, graduate, postgraduate and mid-career applicants are welcome.

Indian Health Service (IHS)
Scholarship Program
Each year, the Indian Health Service (IHS) awards approximately 100 scholarships; offering Preparatory, Pre-Graduate and Health Care Professional Scholarships.
The three IHS scholarships offer qualified American Indian and Alaska Native health profession students a unique opportunity to establish an educational foundation, as they prepare to pursue a career in Indian health. Each scholarship is defined by eligible degree programs, eligibility requirements and financial aid packages - the ultimate goal of the program is to develop the next leaders of Indian health communities.

INSPIRE Pre-College Program
July 6 - July 25, 2014

The INSPIRE Pre-College Program is a full scholarship open to Native American, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian rising junior and senior high school students, including 2014 anticipated graduates, who want to spend 3 weeks on the George Washington University (GW) campus, to learn about intergovernmental relations between tribal governments and the federal government. The program is a full-day experiential undergraduate course, Native Politics and the American Political System taught by GW faculty, which will offer opportunities for students to meet and interview influential Native advocates who work in Washington, D.C.
As an added bonus, INSPIRE students live on campus and participate in recreational programs with the community of high school students enrolled in GW Pre-College programs.
