American Indian Graduate Center (AIGC)  Applications are now available online for the 2013 - 2014 academic year. 

 

Attention High School Seniors!

  • The All Native American High School Academic Team nominations and applications deadline is March 16, 2013.
  • The Accenture American Indian Scholarship application deadline is April 27, 2013.

Attention College Juniors!

  • The Wells Fargo American Indian scholarship application deadline is April 27, 2013.

Attention Graduate Students!

  • The Wells Fargo American Indian scholarship application deadline is April 27, 2013.
  • The AIGC Fellowship application deadline is June 3, 2013.
  • The Loan for Service application deadline is June 4, 2013.

HCC               Health Career Connection 

      Paid Summer Internship 2013

 

Health Career Connection (HCC) inspires and empowers undergraduate students, recent graduates and HCC alumni to successfully pursue health careers and connects them to health employers and graduate health professions schools seeking qualified, diverse candidates. For over 23 years, HCC has assisted individuals discover and achieve their health career goals, become effective health leaders and make a difference in health organizations and communities. HCC has also made substantial contributions to the priority goals of our partner organizations and to increasing diversity in the health professions.

 

HCC is seeking undergraduates, from all academic disciplines, interested in pursuing careers in: 

  • Public Health
  • Health Education
  • Health Policy & Management
  • Community Health  
  • Nursing Administration
  • Environmental Health
  • Health Information Technology
  • Medicine

The program is a 10-week, full time, paid summer internship ($3,000 - $4,000), from June to August.

NASA Postdoctoral Fellowships

The NASA Postdoctoral Program provides talented postdoctoral scientists and engineers with valuable opportunities to engage in ongoing NASA research programs and serves as a source of talent to ensure the continued quality of the NASA research workforce. These one to three year Fellowship appointments are competitive and designed to advance NASA's missions in space science, earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems and astrobiology.

 

Fellowship Details:

  • Annual stipends start at $53,500
  • Annual travel budget of $8,000
  • Relocation allowance
  • Financial supplement for health insurance
  • Appointments renewable for up to three years
  • Approximately 90 Fellowships awarded annually
Deadlines:  Three each year - March 1, July 1 and November 1

NIGA Indian Gaming 

Trade Show and Convention 2013

Phoenix, AZ    March 24 - 27, 2013

 

The National Indian Gaming Association (NIGA), established in 1985, is a non-profit organization of 184 Indian Nations, with other non-voting associate members representing organizations, tribes and businesses, engaged in tribal gaming enterprises from around the country. The common commitment and purpose of NIGA is to advance the lives of Indian peoples economically, socially and politically. NIGA operates as a clearinghouse and educational, legislative and public policy resource for tribes, policymakers and the public, for Indian gaming issues and tribal community development.

 

Some of the trade show and convention events include golf tournaments, training and networking sessions, trade show, receptions, award banquets, annual meeting and arts and crafts booths.

 

Come by the AIGC booth at the convention and say hello to Melvin Monette, Director of Graduate and Special Programs, and Stephine Poston, Poston and Associates; they will represent AIGC at this event.

 Reservation Economic Summit 2013

Las Vegas, NV      March 11 - 14, 2013

 

The National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (NCAIED) announces the 27th Annual National Reservation Economic Summit. The summit will feature respected tribal leaders, state and local elected officials and top CEO's, networking, teaming opportunities, business development sessions, American Indian procurement opportunities and much more. The breakout, training and round table sessions will cover topics on energy, finance, technology, taxation, construction, entertainment, contracting, leadership training, teaming, global enterprise, non- profit's, insurance, agriculture, procurement (corporate, gaming, Native to Native), innovation with Apple, Inc., hospitality and more.

 

NCAIED is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. With over 40 years of assisting American Indian Tribes and their enterprises with business and economic development, they are the largest national Indian specific business organization in the nation. Their motto is, "Putting Indian Country to Work", and they are actively engaged in helping Tribal Nations and Native business people realize their entrepreneurial goals. They are dedicated to putting the whole of Indian Country to work to better the lives of American Indian people - now and for generations to come.
