In 2007, Heather Cumming wrote the first complete authorized portrait of John of God's world, called John of God: The Brazilian Healer Who's Touched the Lives of Millions. The foreword, by Dr. Amit Goswami, provides a scientific explanation of John of God's capabilities in terms of quantum physics--quantum nonlocality--and of the Current Room experiences--quantum healing.

"When you go somewhere new, you can't help but have expectations, and my expectations of my visit to John of God's healing sanctuary in Abadiania, Brazil, were all met. It was just as amazing as people had said it would be. Heather Cumming, our tour guide, had everything planned to perfection, and our every move was coached for the fullest experience.

Heather's guesthouse was simple, but well-organized, with healthy meals for every diet.

Our tour group included people from all over the USA, and some from Canada, Finland, England, Spain, Thailand, Colombia, and Brazil.

"Having been working with the Entities through my meditations for the past year, I was wondering if I would receive some kind of validation for my work. I wanted guidance for my direction as a healer, and, if I had to have the experience of physical healing, I had some old joint injuries I wouldn't mind having fixed! After reading and hearing so many people's experiences with John of God, I wondered what I would experience.

"I found the atmosphere of the Casa to be somewhat like a summer church camp and somewhat like a revival meeting. The form of Brazilian Christianity called Spiritism feels like an interesting mix of Catholicism and the intentional use of Spirit-guided mediums for healing the sick and afflicted. People had said that when you enter the area of the Casa, you can't help but feel the effects of the higher energy, and I wondered what I would feel. No tears for me, but I did notice hits of dizziness and nausea. Whenever I experienced these, I would quickly breathe in through the top of my head and out the soles of my feet for grounding, and ask the Entities to relieve me of this discomfort, and in less than a minute, I would be feeling fine again.

When I walked through the Current Rooms, I noticed only the lightness of the air, and felt gratitude for the hundreds of fervent meditators sitting with their eyes closed, holding the frequency of God's Peace, Joy, and Love for the benefit of the healing work of John of God's Entities.

"My first time before the Entity, I asked for directional guidance and work on old shoulder and elbow injuries. I sat on a pew in an Operation Room full of people, my eyes closed, my right hand over my heart, and gave permission and gratitude for the Entities helping me. I felt two twinges in exactly the two spots of my shoulder injuries. I felt one elbow twinge, tears of blessing, surrender, and then lightness. I felt the other elbow twinge. I felt glory, praise, lightness, celebration, and pleasure, and then I was lifted away into the blue. After a time, we were told that all the surgeries were finished. We picked up our energized herbs at the Casa pharmacy and were ushered into taxis which took us directly to our guesthouse, where we promptly went to bed for an enforced 24 hours of meditative rest. Awakening later, I realized that my spiritual anesthesia had worn off and my left elbow and fingers were feeling the same throbbing pain and numbness I had felt at the time of the sledding accident more than twenty years ago. Both arms were warm. I knew something was happening! The sensations subsided soon, and over the next couple of days the remaining ache in my elbow also went away.

as I felt able. I didn't feel strong enough to sit in a Current Room for three hours, but I helped peel vegetables one morning for the blessed soup fed to thousands. After 20 minutes or so, I suddenly felt dizziness and nausea, and fully expected to collapse into a heap of tears within seconds. I held onto a pillar to keep myself upright. I told Mike I was heading for the restroom and didn't know if I'd be back. I managed to get to the restroom and sit down to focus. I breathed in through the top of my head and out the soles of my feet to ground. I asked the Entities to please remove my discomfort. Within minutes, I was feeling stronger and lighter, and I returned to a surprised Mike with a big smile on my face, and peeled vegetables for the rest of the morning!

"In my meditations that week, the Entities/God's Healing Spirits of Light and Father Raphael affirmed my direction as a healer and teacher, a channel for their healing forces. I was told to take my healing work in a new direction and to write a book about this direction. Exciting!!

"My second time before the Entity, I asked for work on my migraines, two faults in my backbone, my right hand tremor, and my knees. While in the Operation Room, I felt as though I were in a deep slumber, my head drooped. When the spiritual anesthesia wore off, I felt

aches at the back of my head, two places along my backbone, my upper arms, and above my knees. I was most amazed at the intense tenderness of the two places along my backbone--just as I imagine I would have felt with an earthly surgery. The aches receded over the next four days, though I feel their presence again now and then. And when I do, I send my gratitude to the Entities for taking care of these things for me so I can be strong and useful as a healer/teacher on the earth.

"I realize that it is not necessary for me to be in Brazil to have amazing experiences, though I enjoyed having the opportunity to experience John of God at the Casa firsthand. As I moved with the Goodbye Line in front of the Entity for the last time, I put my hand into his. I felt the lightness of Spirit move into and through me. I felt like giggling and laughing and skipping out into the garden. In just remembering that feeling right now, I feel like laughing out loud!"
