What Healing Is and How It Works

"Healing" is a concept that can only exist in a world of duality. It describes a process of moving from brokenness to wholeness, from consciousness of partness/imbalance to consciousness of oneness/balance.

There is a way of viewing brokenness that is mechanical. It views the world in parts, and if a part is broken, the broken part can be fixed. On the mechanical level, this is true and works well.

The Balance of a Living System
On a systems level, however, and particularly on an organic level, we are dealing with the juggling of balance. A part may break, and the system will compensate, so that the broken part is hardly noticed. A human being is a marvelous conglomeration of body, emotions, thoughts, and spirit. There are so many interactions happening within one marvelous human constellation that one small part can misfunction and the body will not only compensate and keep on functioning, but will also do its best to correct the misfunction and return to optimal operation. As a living system within the earth plane, we are continually breaking down and building up every component of our being, and remaining in balance as we do so.

Earthly life is a challenge to the balance of a living system. It begins even before we are born. The genes of our parents and the toxicity of the environment our mother provides determine our base line for balance/imbalance. Then our socialization affects the crystallization of our emotional and mental patterns. We experience the consequences of accidents as we learn to master our lives. And throughout it all, our amazing self compensates and returns to balance again and again.

We humans are not totally conscious of who/what we are and how we came to be this way. Sometimes we are so focused on something we think we want, that we allow our self to become unbalanced in order to reach it. Picture someone leaning out from a limb to pluck a bright red apple. If we are not paying attention to our tiring body in our desire to pluck more apples, we may be shocked back to awareness by our fall to the ground. Imbalance has its consequences.

The human mind is strong. It can override the body's need for balance, like a rider who urges his steed to keep running even as the steed is breathing heavily and sweating with exertion. And the demands of a culture can ride a human mind without caring about the human heart that is pounding or the nerves/sinews that are straining with exhaustion. Sometimes it takes falling out of the tree to remind us to allow our living system to return to balance!

Treating Symptoms of Imbalance, Not Causes
Returning to balance becomes a challenge of its own. The medical/pharmaceutical industry has worked hard to place itself as the only valid solution to an individual's experience of imbalance. It has worked hard to catalog every kind of imbalance and produce a marketable process by which these imbalances are ameliorated in order to get people back into productive employment. Every imbalance is righted with a pill. This approach treats the symptoms, not the causes.

Holistic Approaches to Healing
The holistic approach to balance looks at how the body, emotions, thoughts, and spirit of a person are related. How has the mind focused its attention away from the balance of the system? If an improper diet is causing the imbalance, how is the mind blocking the provision of a proper diet? If disallowed anger is causing the imbalance, what thoughts are stopping the anger from surfacing and being safely released? An illness begins with an energetic imbalance of mind long before the symptoms have become crystallized in the body.

How Reiki Works
There are a plethora of effective holistic practices which work to remove physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual blocks to a human constellation's characteristic balancing process. One of these--Reiki--operates in two important ways. One part of a Reiki treatment addresses the client's awareness of the thoughts that will need changing in order to positively affect the energy of the spiritual, emotional, and physical bodies. Goals for change are set and affirmed. Another part relies on the phenomenon of the "standing wave". As the Reiki practitioner aligns herself with the healing power of the Reiki guides/angels/universe/God, and holds that frequency of wholeness and coherence, everyone she touches becomes aligned with that power. A Reiki client who has declared his intent to heal, will experience emotional and mental conflicts melting away, and the alleviation of physical discomforts. Aligning the healing power within the human constellation with the healing power of the universe both removes blocks to wellness and cements positive energies which work to rebalance the living system.

John of God Healing
John of God is not a Reiki practitioner. He is a trance healer, but the healing provided by the spiritual Entities which work through his physical body are still founded on the process of alignment. In the Current Rooms, a client declares his intent to heal, and opens up his energy constellation to the healing power of the Entities/universe. You may call this process from the client point of view "prayer" or "meditation", and whatever changes that occur as a result, "healing".

The same is true of the Crystal Light Beds. A client declares his intent to heal, and opens up his energy constellation to the healing power of the Entities/universe, and any changes that occur in body, mind, or spirit as a result are called "healing".

Experiencing Balance
Balance is what your human constellation of parts is designed to unconsciously strive for and maintain. There are three kinds of balance I want to mention.

1. Outer Balance. The balance of all the aspects of your life on earth: where you live, what you eat, how you exercise, what music you listen to, what kind of work you do, how you choose to relax, and how you interact with your family and community. Dr. Emmett Miller talks about "natural wholeness" as including a sense of personal power, revitalizing the waters of the earth, sustainable agriculture, right livelihood/honest money, and whole-child education. Thrive encourages a sustainable human lifestyle.

2. Inner Balance. Your inner mind, body, spirit balance: how well/functional you feel within yourself. Dr. Oz is one of many fervent educators in body, mind, spirit balance. Dr. Roberto Assagioli developed the techniques of Psychosynthesis to assist in the conscious integration and functioning of a personality.

3. Cosmic Balance. Your karmic/universal balance: how you are meeting your karmic challenges and moving beyond equilibrium to evolution. What larger meaning and purpose does your life hold? The Shift Network encourages you to go within and find your higher road in the grand picture of universal existence.

Conscious Choice
You are the caretaker and rider/commander of your physical body, your ship. Your can trust that your human constellation of parts will compensate for your choices, unconscious or conscious, and do its utmost to keep you in a state of functioning balance.

Pay attention to the barometer you are, how you are feeling physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Practice aligning with your potential wholeness every day. Make friends with those parts of you that you don't know so well. Embrace healing on every level. Allow the feeling of connection to All-That-Is to warm and lift you beyond your past and support you on your personal journeys of discovery on earth. Decide to find your companions. Feel the satisfaction of helping others on their journeys, and know that your journey is divinely guided. You are an irreplaceable constellation of energies in the grand cosmos of being!

Rev. James Malley's Healing Experiences

Back Surgery

Eleven years ago, I had a wreck and broke my back. I had four surgeries, with a total of two rods and six screws put into my back. The first surgery lasted twelve hours. A screw was put into my spinal column. The next day they wanted me to stand, but I was crying/screaming from the pain. A CAT scan showed that the screw was causing the pain. After seven days of no eating, the second surgery repositioned the screw. Six months later, I was in so much pain that the surgeon threw his hands up in despair. The next surgeon chose to go through my stomach, not my back. However, the polymer didn't harden properly, so the surgeon put ground-up cadaver bone between my vertebrae. A year later, I was still in pain, continual shooting pains down my left leg. The rods and screws were removed, and I was given Oxycodone for the pain, which helped. I had pain relief for two hours on, two hours off. A Fentanyl patch took away the yo-yo effect.

Near-Death Experience

Five years ago, I had a near-death experience. I was having some shoulder work done, and the anesthetist put me so far under, my heart stopped. They opened my chest, massaged my heart. I met my parents and grandparents in a field of colorful flowers. I felt such deep love! Grandma said, "You can't stay. You gotta go back. God's got something for you to do." I woke up to a lady tapping me on my face. "Mr. Malley, wake up!" Everything was white. She had a white dress on. "Am I in heaven?" "You're in the recovery room." I cried--I did not want to come back.

After that, I continually asked God what to do. One day, a voice from within said, "Meditate on Me." At 8 a.m. every morning, I meditated. A week later, I heard, "I'm going to send you on a journey, and I will give you the words to say." I had been in the ministry for 40 years, but it was right then that my spiritual journey started!

The Center for Joyful Living

A year ago August, my wife asked me to go to KarmaFest in Cecil County, MD. She was having a spiritual reading done, asked about a church, met Candice, and we were introduced to the Center for Joyful Living in Wilmington, DE. When we first attended, I walked with a cane, in so much pain, leaning on my wife's shoulder. There, for the first time, I heard about spiritual prayer treatments. That was in August. The spiritual prayer treatments were so effective that, by October, I was ready to come off the Fentanyl. No more pain in my back! By December I was walking everywhere without my cane.

Hearing About John of God

I heard about John of God first through Amy O'Donald. I contacted Mike Burns about getting a session on a Crystal Light Bed. Although I could walk now without a cane, due to the back surgeries, I still could not feel the bottoms of my feet. I wore special tops on my shoes so I could tell when I was standing up. After forty minutes on the Crystal Light Bed, Mike took my hands and supported me as I slid off the Bed. I held my breath as my feet hit the floor. I had feeling in the bottoms of my feet!

Past Life Clearing with Rev. Scott

When Amy let me know that Rev. Scott was in town, I knew that a session with him would help me with my brand new ministry that started in July. I had been asked to be the leader of a spiritual home group. When God opened that door, I did not hesitate to walk through. I knew that I could lead them to a higher spiritual plane on this journey that God has set before me.

In my Past Life Clearing session with Rev. Scott, I closed my eyes and put all the monkey chatter in a box and put it to the side. The first color that came through was gold, then purple and green. After that, my spirit guide, Clara, was there. The healing went from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet. I determined that from this day forward, I would not allow any negative thoughts into my space. I would love people and Nature purely.

In a past life, I met St. Francis. I was also a monk in Spain and walked many, many miles. I met up with a group of monks and nuns, who bathed my sore and blistered feet, and waited for me to prepare dinner for them. However, I left the earth before preparing the dinner!

Whenever I need my spirit guide, I call her name three times. I am a very giving and benevolent person. I need to take care of this body. I will continually be on a spiritually higher path. When there's any negative thought trying to come in, I will take my shoes off and walk in the grass. There is complete healing. I feel it. I know that I am one with God. I AM that I am.

Rev. James is a leader of a spiritual home group. He has practiced Astral Traveling for over thirty years and teaches it in order to help people contact their loved ones who have crossed over.

Crystal Light Bed Opportunities

Seven crystals hang above the bed, suspended over your body's seven energy centers called chakras, each crystal pulsing with a colored light. Your eyes are closed, and for forty minutes you open yourself to divine healing, allowing Healing Spirits to readjust and rebalance your physical, emotional, and mental bodies, in the Name of Love, of Wholeness.

During their Crystal Bed sessions, many people have reported physical sensations such as tingling, waves of energy, spatial disorientation, pulling or poking, or sharp pains in injured areas followed by welcome relief. Some people have experienced an enforced state of relaxation, like being cocooned in light or held down firmly by their shoulders. Some people have seen loved ones who have passed on appear to them and hold conversations. Some people revisit past lives where forgiveness is needed. And many people experience a pleasurable sense of lightness or cleansing, an expansion of heart or third eye, or peace.

John of God is a spiritual healer in Brazil who travels the world, helping people heal through connection with discarnate Entities who do their good work for free, and teach us how to give back for the healing of each other and our world. A John of God healing meditation room in Brazil is called a "Current Room", where each person connects with the current of Source/God energy that is always flowing between matter and spirit, and holds this frequency of wholeness so as to effect personal body, mind, and spirit balancing, as well as provide current for the balancing/healing of others and the world. This is practiced in our John of God Prayer and Healing Meditation Groups.
