One of my favorite parts of my job is getting to know all of you and hearing about YOUR jobs. The variety of ways you all make a living is just fascinating; and it often comes in handy...
Brian Lacey is a client who has become a good friend over the years. His company, Electric Advisors, brokers energy supply, mostly to commercial entities but to residential customers too. I reached out to him recently for advice on the transfer of "GATS," which are essentially green energy credits that in this case were being generated by our seller's solar panels and needed to be transferred with the sale. I was a bit baffled by the whole thing and very glad to have Brian's number in my phone. He quickly and clearly explained both the premise and the process.
While we were talking, he mentioned a change that all of us who are PEPCO customers will see with this month's bill: a new account number, and possibly, a longer billing cycle. It seems like good information all of us to have, so I asked him for more information to pass along. He kindly obliged me with this link to Electrical Advisor's blog containing all the details. It's a great joy to me to see the community of people who have grown up around Nalls Home Partners. Please remember that we are always here to happily make a referral or put you in touch with an expert when you have questions pertaining to your home. All the best,
Barbara, Tom, Marc and Susan

Client of the Month
Folks, it's only February and mighty early to nominate a Client of the YEAR, but I'm willing to bet no one beats this story....
Our wonderful clients, Adam and Renee Parris, asked us to sell their house ahead of a job transfer. The move wasn't without challenges: Two little kids. Saying goodbye to a house they had renovated and loved, in a neighborhood they loved. In the middle of the winter. And the move was to Brooklyn, which meant real downsizing. You get the idea.
Despite all of this, Renee and Adam were among the very most cheerful, agreeable, capable folks we ever worked with. Just lovely. Really.
So wouldn't you know it, but on the morning of their settlement, when Adam was carrying out the recycling, he slipped on the ice, fell on the glass, and badly cut his hand. Really badly. Five hours of complicated surgery badly.
Mom came down to help with the packing. Marc furiously rescheduled. The wonderful folks at North American Title made an emergency house-call settlement. Neighbors stepped in with kids and clean up.
And you know what? When I arrived two days later with lunch for the move - nothing but smiles. Still cheerful, agreeable, happy. Renee was bustling around her usual chipper self, and Adam was cracking jokes while emptying the freezer with his good hand. The personification of "you're as happy as you make up your mind to be." They're my heroes.
We wish them all the great, good luck and happiness in the world.
