Aging's Affect on Financial Decisions
What are the signs of financial decline?

Watching a loved one struggle with a task that once was simple can be difficult to watch. Imagine you're at dinner.  Dad insists on paying the bill.  But you notice it's taking him a while to calculate the tip and sign the check. It leads you to wonder whether he calculated the tip correctly.  Suddenly, the man whose spirit lighted a room has begun to dim.

A normal part of aging is the loss of speed in our ability to generate, transform and manipulate new information. These skills are crucial; especially when it concerns our financial lives. Recognizing the signs is the first step towards helping loved ones with their finances as they age.

Financially savvy athletes know how to live below their means & invest in their personal brand. Are you doing the same?

We've heard the stories of athletes who sign multi-million dollar contracts only to end up broke soon after their career ends. In 2009 Sports Illustrated reported that 75% of former NFL players went bankrupt or were strapped for cash just two years after retiring. The NBA doesn't fare much better with about 60% of their retirees admitting to being broke with 5 years of ending their playing careers. While many athletes do end up broke many are not falling victim.  Instead, with the help of a financial adviser, they are managing their wealth successfully.
