Your net worth is a number that you should know and be consistently working to grow. Net worth is calculated by taking your assets (everything you own) and subtracting your liabilities (everything you owe). Building wealth is a process that takes discipline, determination and a long-term outlook. Increases to your net worth are likely not a singular event. Most of us will achieve our wealth through careful savings and focus over time. By knowing and working to increase your net worth over time, you are more likely to achieve your financial goals for life and especially in retirement.

While we all may not want to get older, it's a fact of life.  And guess what?  With age comes perks!  Here are a few benefits that will save you a few bucks.

First up, the ever popular "Senior Discount".  While you may not want to admit your age, there may be times when you should.  Like magic, you can save yourself some money!  Older Americans can save you money on travel. Amtrak, Greyhound and Southwest offer discounted fares for seniors. But perhaps the best deal out there is offered by the National Park Service, where for ten bucks you can get a lifetime pass to over 2,000 recreations sites if you're over 62!
