Talk More Than Turkey Over Thanksgiving

Carve some time out this weekend to talk about those touchy money and estate planning issues that are just too important to ignore.

We are all getting older, there's no way to avoid it. Aging brings about a series of serious and important issues that must be addressed, though many choose to ignore them. A recent study reveals that fewer than 30 percent of adults have had a conversation about planning their long term care or aging needs with their family. If you're worried about having this conversation over turkey imagine having it when you need to figure out during a period of crisis. Having an open conversation with your family about your wishes and finances is a critical piece of your financial planning puzzle.

Being Gracious Can Lead to Riches

It's easy to get caught up in the things you want and don't have instead of enjoying what's right in front of you.

The more you appreciate what you have today, the more likely it is you will be better off, financially, in your future. Research shows that people who are more grateful tend to earn more money and have happier lives. Gracious people tend be make better managers which often leads to career advancement and higher incomes. Just in case you need more reasons to be grateful this holiday season, think of the potential riches it could bring to you in the future.

We all know how we should behave, but sometimes we need a little reminder from the etiquette police.

The holiday season means you will likely have lots of invitations to parties with friends and family. And with elections around the corner, political conversations can grow heated. Remember to consider your head AND your heart this holiday season.  Seek to present positive social skills.  After all, it's an advantage in business and your personal life.  You never know what doors it may open?
