Are You Missing Money?
In the United States there is collectively $41.7 billion in unclaimed assets.

You've heard the ads on the TV & radio. Are you among the millions of people who ignore the fact that "free money" is available to them? Most unclaimed funds go missing due to loss of contact, change of employment, failing to notify financial institutions that you've moved, or simply ignoring a notice in the mail.  The States are holding on to lots of unclaimed property including dormant bank accounts, stock certificates, life insurance payouts, gift cards, un-cashed payroll checks, and property from safe deposit boxes. There is no statute of limitations on your ability to claim your property or as an heir.  Yet, tangible properties can be sold at auction and you would be left with cash rather than a family heirloom.

Take a minute, look and see if you or a family member have unclaimed monies out there!

The Math Behind Your Social Security Benefits
Everything about Social Security seems to be complicated, when to apply, how to maximize your benefits and exactly how much you'll get?

Calculating your social security benefit can be complicated, but it's certainly doable. Recently we came across a video designed to teach you how the calculation works.

The formula to determine your benefits is based on your average indexed monthly earnings (AIME) for your 35 highest earning years after age 21. The AIME is divided into three segments, based on levels of earnings. For each segment of your earnings you are paid social security benefits in different percentages up to maximum earnings of $118,500 in 2015.
