Greetings!

 top

Oh, boy!  Here we go again!

We are preparing for another storm - luckily, it doesn't look like we are going to get snow, but they are predicting a lot of flooding.  My sister and I are moving all the valuables out of our basements.  I'm tuning up my generator and Janeen will be clearing the leaves and sediment from her french drains.  We wish you all good luck!

Just one further note - we will be available for storm clean up next week - fallen branches, downed trees, flooding assistance, and drainage solutions.  Our crews will be equipped with chain saws so that they can cut up branches and trees as needed.  Please call or email if you need help.

Here's a cute shot of our office mascot, Hurricane Sandy!

Winterize Sprinklers - Be sure to turn the water off first!

It's time!  Please turn your water off and email us, or call the hotline x5, so that we can schedule your sprinkler winterization before the weather turns.  Please don't wait until the day before a deep freeze to call - we may not be able to get to you in time.  Just turn your water off and email us!

Fall Leaf Clean-up

We will be concluding our regular lawn cutting service in the next week or so and we will begin the leaf clean up.  If you are a contract customer, you do not have to do anything - we will schedule your clean up automatically!  There may be a short time between the last lawn cut and your final clean up, depending on the weather, but please be assured that we work until we are done, even if that means working through December and waiting until early snow-falls melt!

Please contact us today if you would like an estimate for leaf clean up!

Fall Pruning

Last call!  Overgrown shrubs are very susceptible to breakage when the snows come.  Contact us for a pruning estimate today!   Pruning

Snow Removal

Our snow removal contracts will be going out shortly.  If you are an existing snow customer, you will receive your contract automatically.  Otherwise, if would like an estimate, please email Gene.

Contact us today to find out more about any of the services mentioned above!  Or whatever else you might need!

Thank You!

Steve

fall needle drop
Current Conditions
Not much going on with lawns  as far as diseases of grass at this time. Regular rains and moderate temperatures have the grass looking pretty good at the moment.

Most of what we have observed around the neighborhood is conifers with seasonal needle drop.  It is normal for conifers to drop needles. Periods of stress and bad weather just helps to knock the needles off at a faster pace.

We are completing our winter fertilizer applications and deep root feeding of the ornamentals and shrubs.  The final sprays of the season - winter protect and fall dormant oil, are on the schedule for November.  You can still sign up for these important late-season applications - they help your valuable plants survive the winter and resist insects.  Check out the coupon below for a great discount on the combination product which included winter protection and deer guard.

We are still spraying for ticks, since they are very active right now and will continue to be active until the temperature drops below freezing and stays there!

Please let us know if you have any questions!
