DUKE ENERGY HELPS BRING CLASS OUTDOORS
Over the past few months, teams from Duke Energy have been helping maintain a welcoming campus at Enka Middle School. Thanks to power-washing, priming, and painting, Enka's visual arts teacher will create a colorful mural for a new outdoor classroom.

Last week, we kicked off Brews & Brains: Quiz for a Cause. The trivia night benefits a different nonprofit each month. We've become a partner in The Success Equation. The effort unites community partners to reduce the incidence of poverty and its impact on children in Buncombe County through education, collaboration, and public policy, resulting in an environment where all children can thrive. READ MORE>

In 2016, we're scheduling more Days of Impact throughout the year instead of a one-time Day of Caring. However, volunteers worked at projects throughout the county during the annual Day of Caring event in September. Thank you, volunteers! VIEW GALLERY>

For the fourth year, Asheville City and Buncombe County hosted the Public Service Chili Cook-off to benefit our work -- and what better venue than a fire house! Awards were given in multiple categories, but the real winners were those who got to taste all of the entries. MORE INFO>
