County Health Ranking & Roadmaps has released its annual snapshot comparing the overall health of nearly every county in the nation. This year, Buncombe County ranks #6 among North Carolina's 100 counties in Health Factors and #14 for Health Outcomes. Both are up from the previous year. READ MORE>

We know taxes can be tough, especially for people who aren't sure which deductions they qualify for, whose first language isn't English, or who have trouble because of their age or a disability. NC 2-1-1 can connect community members to financial education, tax preparation assistance and ways to file for free online. READ MORE> 

Summer break can lead to a loss in learning opportunities and physical activity, but you can minimize the summer slump! From April 13-May 15, the Peaks Society will collect sporting goods for use by kids with limited resources at summer camps in Buncombe County. You can drop off items, purchase them online or make a donation. READ MORE>

We love to see the LIVE UNITED spirit at work. More than 50% of students in Buncombe County Schools are on a free or reduced lunch plan. The servers at Bellagio Bistro have been saving tips from to-go orders for months so that hot lunches are available while school cafeterias are closed for spring break. Way to go! READ MORE>
