GO LOCAL: GIVING WITH LOCAL IMPACT	MEET TAMARIA KELLY, PROJECT COORDINATOR
We're now a member of the Asheville Grown Business Alliance, aligning with 380 businesses advocating for a healthy, collaborative local economy. Once known as "Community Chest of Asheville," we were the first such philanthropic organization in North Carolina and have been about local giving with local impact since 1921. She's developing opportunities for educators, youth service providers, volunteers and key community stakeholders to increase student graduation rates. Hi-Wire Brewing proves there are plenty of creative ways to give! Along with Vieux Carre food truck, they're donating a percentage of sales on February 19. Add in a raffle and Roots hummus for a tasty way to give back with other supporters. READ MORE>

Taxes can be tough. NC 2-1-1 can connect you to free preparation assistance and financial education through OnTrack WNC, AARP Tax Aide, State Employees' Credit Union and 18,000 services throughout the state. There's even an online service. READ MORE>

VOLUNTEER

200 volunteers joined forces for an inter-generational service experience on MLK Jr. Day. They churned out "adopt me" bandanas for shelter pets, crafted cards of encouragement for veterans, wrote thank you notes to first responders and more. READ MORE>
