For the second year, Women's Leadership Council collected gifts for middle school students. Items are still coming in, but members got together before the craziness of the holidays at Highland Brewing Company to wrap more than 550 books and 150 other gifts. Asheville Brewing Company created United Way Pale Ale earlier this year to celebrate the kickoff to our community campaign. It was a great partnership and the team behind the brew has shown their incredible generosity again by presenting us with a check! READ MORE>

A packed house at the annual Legislative Briefing heard information about the recently completed North Carolina General Assembly session, a forecast of what's to come and how budget and policy decisions could affect the state and our mountain communities. READ MORE>

Beth Walton from the Asheville Citizen-Times has made a weekly commitment to community service and Hands On is helping her out. With family visiting and holiday deadlines looming, she took on a Portable Project. She had a fun time and you can, too. READ MORE>
