PARKING: Take Note!

A recent visit by Rumson's kind police chief, Scott Patterson, recommends the following for those who do not want to be ticketed on Sunday mornings:

1. Be sure your parked car is facing the proper direction, i.e. the direction of  traffic flow.
2. You must park 50 feet from any stop sign.
3. Even with no stop sign, you must park 25 feet from an intersection.

Canterbury Art Show:
Featured Artist

Grace Modla, an award-winning, mixed media artist from Holmdel, has been featured in solo, group and juried exhibitions in New Jersey, New York, and Los Angeles. Whether expressed as birds, angels, nudes, or abstract works of vibrant color, her artwork has a dreamlike, timeless quality that dwells in the intersection of the physical and the spiritual worlds.

Her "Bird" series came about by happy accident. What began as a birthday gift for her niece turned into an ongoing exploration of the ideas of Family, Home, and the connections we knit together, bit by bit, with those we love. For Grace, Birds embody both our yearnings for freedom and our eternal human need for the safe haven of Belonging. Her technique is a swift dance of movement, splashing and tilting acrylic paints and inks on a fresh canvas, living in the moment, no time for overthinking -- followed by the careful application of Birds, fabrics, found objects, and threadwork. A marriage of spontaneity and precision. She believes art should bring joy to the eye and spirit.

Some of her recent shows have been featured at Linus Galleries (CA), Heaven Gallery, Asbury Park, The Art Alliance, Red Bank, the Art Society of Monmouth County, and the Jon Bon Jovi Foundation's "Women in Art" invitational show. We are thrilled to have her participate in The Canterbury Art Show for the first time this year.

CANTERBURY FAIR RAISED
$48,700

Wow! What a terrific Canterbury Fair we had in June!
We are delighted to announce that the Fair raised $48,700 for St George's Outreach and other parish activities!
This is the best year we have ever had!!

It was a wonderful day! We were so fortunate to have a spectacular turnout, beautiful weather and lots of fellowship and fun!
The three of us have been so overwhelmed with the hard work &
support by everyone in our parish, and even volunteers from our local community. We give our heartfelt thanks to each and everyone of you giving of your time, talents and treasures to our Canterbury Fair. In addition we give special thanks to our Committee Chairs, all those who generously supported the Fair with underwriting, all the people and local businesses that donated those great items for our Silent Auction, and of course to everyone who gave their treasures to the Fair! Without your tremendous support, the Canterbury Fair would not be possible.

Thank you! Thank you so, so much!!
