Family Promise:
Fundraiser

May 19th marks this
 year's Family Promise fundraising event.
A dinner will be
held at Ocean Place
Resort in Long Branch honoring Dorothea
Bongiovi (BonJovi)
or her work as founder of JBJ Soul Kitchen in Red Bank.
This is Family Promise's main fundraiser for the year, so a silent auction and 50/50 will accompany dinner and entertainment - and all donations will be greatly appreciated. Come and hear success stories from past guests and the exciting plans for Family Promise in the future. Last year 20 people from St George's attended and we hopef to do that again.
Please contact Tom Esposito (tespo97@aol.com / (732) 946-8036) for ticket information or visit the website (www.familypromise
mc.org). Tickets are $100 per person for a cause we've supported since its beginning.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS: ADULT ED SPECIAL SERIES
Please join us for our Adult Education series with four special presentations on the Hebrew Bible led by Rabbi Harry Levin!

THIS Friday, May 13 at 9 am:

SECRETS OF HEBREW LETTERS:
Jewish ethical worldviews are revealed in the structures and energies of the Hebrew letters as written by scribes in a Torah scroll.

Sunday, May 15 at 11:30 am:
TORAH PASSAGES IN THEIR OWN TIME...OUR TIME IN TORAH PASSAGES:
Explore the pshat, the plain-sense meaning of Torah narratives, which just might have had completely different meanings and resonances, in the ancient time when written, than those narratives might seem to have today.  Learn how an ancient and unchanging text commands us to use that unchanging text to change our current world.

Friday, May 20 at 9 am:
THE FIRST DAY OF CREATION:
WHAT MIGHT THE HEBREW TEXT REALLY SAY (WHICH TRANSLATIONS CANNOT)
A verse-by-verse, word-by-word, letter-by-letter exploration of the Torah's inner report of the progress of Creation.

Sunday, May 22 at 11:30 am:
TAKE AN INTIMATE TOUR OF AN UNROLLED TORAH SCROLL:
In Ralph Hall, across more than a dozen tables, set end to end, we will unroll a Torah scroll, and explore the mystical topographies of the Torah's inner territory.  Perhaps a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for anyone who loves the Bible.
Pentecost is Coming!
What is Pentecost?

Pentecost celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit, in tongues of fire, 50 days after Easter. It is considered the birthday of the church.

THIS Sunday, May 15, 2016

Mark your calendars for a very special Pentecost Celebration at the 10am Service.

Wear RED to church.

We ask that all children meet in Ralph Hall at 9:50 for a special procession into the church.
(They will then head to Sunday School.)

The Gospel will also be read in many languages, including Vietnamese, Swedish, French, Bulgarian, and more!
