Congratulations!

Congratulations to all the St. George's parishioners who organized, led, or otherwise participated in putting together the first ever WEforum; Educate - Empower-Evolve Conference, improving the health and wellness of women and families in our community.
Special congratulations to Carolyn DeSena, conference Chair. What a great conference!
Pentecost is Coming!

What is Pentecost?

Pentecost celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit, in tongues of fire, 40 days after Easter. It is considered the birthday of the church.

Sunday, May 15, 2016

Mark your calendars for a very special Pentecost Celebration at the 10am Service.

Wear RED to church.

We ask that all children meet in Ralph Hall at 9:50 for a special procession into the church.
(They will then head to Sunday School.)

The Gospel will also be read in many languages, including Vietnames, Swedish, French, Bulgarian, and more!
Canterbury Fair Underwriting
Underwriting! It is so important to the Fair!

We are off to a great start! Underwriting has already received $2000 of support from donations!! Thank you to all who have generously donated already!!

The Canterbury Fair still has many expenses that we hope to cover by underwriting: especially the Games and Amusements for the kids, Staging (which includes advertising and security), and the lobster for the Lobster Lunch, as well as hot dogs and hamburgers for Outdoor Foods.

Can you help us by underwriting a part of these expenses? Any amount is appreciated. Last year there were over 10 individual donations to Staging! Each donation helps offset some of our costs and maximize what we raise for the programs and outreach at St George's.
Please contact Herb Geiss at canterburyfair@stgeorgesrumson.org or call him at 732-996-5606 to donate.

We are hoping to receive underwriting for the following:
Children's Auction $300
Petting Zoo $1,300
Bouncy House $1000
Dunk Tank (back by popular demand!) $500
Kid's Games - Prizes & Crafts $950
Jewelry $200
Lobster Lunch $2,000
Outdoor Foods $1,000
Advertising & Signs/Banners - $500
Staging $5,000

Every donation is important and much appreciated and will help to make the Fair better than ever, and more successful this year!
Family Promise: Some Changes!
After 4 years of faithful leadership, family dinner
Janine Lamm-Roy will step down as our Family Promise Coordinator. We think that going forward the job needs to be broken down into smaller components. We are searching, therefore, for some special people to:

1. Be in charge of volunteer sign-ups.
2. Be the guest "touch point" person.
3. Oversee the week: should be easy if all the smaller parts are taken care of.

Thanks to those who have already stepped up to be in charge of linens, to being a liaison to the larger program and for pantry stocking!
Please contact Ophelia if you might be willing to serve in one of the above capacities for this very special and rewarding ministry!
Training provided.
Speaking of Family Promise:
Our Family Promise Guests are returning Sunday, May 15th!  If you'd like to volunteer as either a Chef, Evening Host, or Over Night Host, please see the sign up sheet by the water fountain in Ralph Hall.  We also will need assistance stocking the pantry and purchasing diapers/wipes.  If you'd like to help, please reach out to Janine Lamm-Roy (jlammroy@me.com) for a list of needed items.  And, if you've always wanted to volunteer with our Guests, but you don't know how to get started, please reach out to Janine, and she can answer all your questions.  As always, thank you for your support of this ministry!
