Capital Campaign 
Important Dates and Information

Pledge cards went out in the mail on Monday

All are invited to bring their cards to worship 
Commitment Sunday, Nov. 22nd
when they will be blessed. Please bring both pledge cards: annual and capital campaign!
(Those pledge cards already received will be included in the blessing).
 
 - Following  10am worship this Sunday
we will enjoy a celebratory, no charge 
parish-wide brunch outside under a heated tent! Food by My Kitchen Witch, Activities for kids of all ages.

Outreach Grants
The following is a list of the grants approved at the November meeting of the Outreach Committee.  For each grant, a committee member "researcher" visits the agency, obtains a copy of the grant request, the latest financials for the agency and comparative bids from vendors.  Awards are made by committee vote.

180 Turning Lives Around, Hazlet
- a non-profit organization providing a continuum of prevention crisis, emergency shelter and longer term intervention services, to women, men, and children impacted by intimate partner and sexual violence. A grant for $750 was approved for the purchase of furnishings and household items for their new safe house.
 
Boys and Girls Club of Monmouth County, Asbury Park - they provide a safe place for young people in Monmouth County.They run an after school program that continues through the summer. A grant request of $1,300 was approved for the cost of a child to attend the after school program.
 
Collier Youth Services, Wickatunk - provides at risk youth a chance to grow toward their potential in an environment that promotes belonging, dignity and hope. They run a summer camp for children ages 5 - 13, which provides a safe place for 176 children during the summer months. The children are bused from various towns in Monmouth County. The camp offers swimming, hiking, water safety, etc. They are provided breakfast, lunch and a snack. The cost for one child to attend the 7-week summer camp is $2,450. A grant of $750 was approved to be used toward the cost of sending one child to the 7-week summer program.
 
Holiday Express, Tinton Falls - Holiday Express is a non-profit organization that delivers music, food, gifts, financial support, and friendship to those with the greatest need for the gift of human kindness during the holiday season and throughout the year. They do about 80 shows during the season. They supply parties, blankets, personal products, 4000 children get gift baskets. A grant of $750 was approved so that they can purchase warm socks for the gift baskets.
 
Mercy Center, Asbury Park - educates underprivileged girls in Asbury Park and provides a food pantry and family resource center.  A grant of $2,000 was approved for new outdoor signage and to create an urban garden.
 
Project Paul, Keansburg - a homelessness prevention agency providing vital programs and services for those in distress in Keansburg and other Monmouth County communities. A grant of $1,121 was approved for the purchase of food.

Annual Coat Drive
October 1st through November 30th Coat Drive
 
Thank you so much, to date we have collected 66 coats. 56 coats were given to Project Paul and 10 coats were given to our Family Promise guests. The collection will continue through the end of November. The coats do not need to be cleaned but please clean out the pockets. Racks will be set up in Ralph Hall and in the back of the church.

Wreath and Poinsettia Sale
Pre-sale order forms are now available in the bulletin and narthex.  

All monies and forms are due this Sunday, Nov. 22nd. 
 
We are selling:
26" decorated wreaths, 6 1/2" poinsettias
and 7 1/2" double-branched poinsettias. 
All proceeds go to fund the Senior high Youth Group REACH Workcamp trip this summer.

Operation Christmas Child Wrapping Party
TONIGHT
Senior High Youth Group
 
Tonight at 6pm the Senior High Youth Group 
will meet in Ralph Hall to wrap shoeboxes filled with Christmas gifts to send to children overseas.
CLICK HERE to watch the Samaritan's Purse video on how to fill a shoebox and what items are appropriate to send. Bring your filled shoebox to Youth Group and
we will wrap the shoeboxes together. Wrapping paper will be provided at Youth Group. If you pay the $7 postage on-line prior to Youth Group, you can track your shoebox and find out where it is delivered! If not, bring a check (made out to Samaritan's Purse) the night of Youth Group.
We will also have pizza.

The Youth Giving Jug
 
We have asked the children to pray and consider making a donation toward the Capital Campaign.
So far, the children have raised $220. Wouldn't it be great if we could reach $500?!? The jug is in Ralph Hall behind the large oak table.
Please visit the hall between the nave and Ralph Hall to view the thoughtful posters about "Fixing God's House." 
 
The St. George's
Christmas Pageant!
 
This year's pageant
 will be during the 4pm Christ
mas Eve Service.  
We are in need of young parishioners (pre-K to high school) to volunteer to be the following:
Mary
Joseph
Shepherds
Sheep
Donkeys
Camels
3 Wise Men
Angels
Rehearsals will be on Sundays, following the 10am Service, starting on December 6th (in the Pine Room).  We will end with a rehearsal on the 23rd at 4pm with pizza dinner to follow.

Donate to Riley's Food Drive
 
Riley Plosica is a St. George's parishioner, Acolyte and freshman at MAST high school.  She is working toward achieving the Bronze Medal level of the Congressional Award. Please help her by donating to her food drive to benefit Lunch Break.  
  There is a box in Ralph Hall for all donations.
