Dear Friends,
You are invited to two very special worship services on Sunday, October 18, 2015. This day will be the official kick-off for our "Together for Tomorrow" campaign to undertake essential repairs, renovations, and enhancements to our church's facilities, and to fund our operating budget. We have named this Sunday "Vision Sunday" because our campaign is not simply about "bricks and mortar." It is also about being obedient to God's great Vision that we be a church focused on Christian mission and witness to others.
At the end of both the 8 o'clock and 10 o'clock services, information packets will be distributed that include a devotional guide, a commitment guide, and a prayer reminder. It is our hope that this campaign will be an exciting, spiritual journey. We want the campaign to deepen our faith. We will not ask for money or pledges at this time.
Thank you for your faithfulness to our parish, and especially to God and God's vision for our church. I look forward to seeing you on Vision Sunday. Come share the excitement!
Yours in Christ, Ophelia

Choir of Boys and Girls!
Rehearsals TOMORROW at 4:30pm!
Do you know of a young person that likes to sing? We would like to invite them to join the Choir of Boys and Girls. The Choir is fun, and an important part of St. George's ministry of music and worship. All that is required is the ability to read English, an enthusiasm for singing, and a willingness to learn and have fun. Rehearsals are held from 4:30 to 5:15 on Thursday afternoons (tomorrow) with pizza parties scheduled for the Thursday following each Sunday the choir sings.
Parents and grandparents play a vital role in promoting a child's interests and, if singing is one of them, the Choir of Boys & Girls is an ideal opportunity. Please consider it!

Skeptics and Suds is Back!
This year's theme is: "If you knew when each of the books of the New Testament was written, would it change your view of what those books mean?" Here is one simple example: Did you know that at least seven of Paul's letters were almost certainly written to vibrant Christian communities before any of the four Gospels was written? We will be reading Marcus Borg's book
The Evolution of the Word, which contains both a chronological history of the documents making up the New Testament and the full text of each. Our first gathering will be held at
7pm on Monday October 12th. For this first meeting, we will meet at the Roys' house, 13 Lincoln Ave., Rumson.
