Chuch School 2
Would you like to be a Church School teacher?
Church School begins on Sunday, September 13th.  Classrooms will be PreK/K, 1st/2nd, 3rd, 4th/5th and 6th/7th/8th.
We are in need of parents to volunteer as teachers. With multiple volunteers per classroom, you may only have to teach every 4-5 weeks!  And think of the huge impact you will be having on the faith formation of our children!
If interested in teaching, please contact Brenda.
Thank you!
Participate in our Summer Choir
Come lead our liturgy, even it is only for one Sunday.  Warm-up and anthem rehearsals begin at 9:15am each Sunday in the choir room of Ralph Hall.  Give it a try!
Pledges during the Summer

Please remember your pledges to
St. George's this summer.
It would be great if we can avoid the usual summer cash flow crunch.
Thank you in advance!

Please leave a message on the church office phone,

Canterbury Art Show
Labor Day Weekend
September 4th-6th

A treasure for sure...

Returning artist to our fourth Canterbury Art Show:  Steve Scanlon, a landscape and nature photographer focusing on the Two River areas of Monmouth County.

Born and raised in Fair Haven and enjoying childhood family camping trips to majestic Maine, Steve developed an appreciation for nature which is apparent in his life's work and his art.

He started a landscaping business at the young age of 15 while attending Rumson - Fair Haven Regional High School. Then, after earning his Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from Rutgers University, he decided to expand his landscaping business and has grown it into a very successful enterprise.

"Working outdoors gives me plenty of subject material for my photography.  Here in beautiful Monmouth County I find myself focusing on both land and seascapes.  Early morning sunrises are my favorite.  I also try to incorporate the moon or a planet which adds to the challenge of capturing light and reflections.  I don't think I'll ever get bored striving for the perfect shot."

Please visit Steve's website:

Outreach Grants

The following is a list of the grants approved at the July meeting of the Outreach Committee.  For each grant, a committee member "researcher" visits the agency, obtains a copy of the grant request, the latest financials for the agency and comparative bids from vendors.  Awards are made by committee vote.

They run a six-week summer program for children K thru 8. Each student receives swimming lessons, professional academic instruction, breakfast, lunch and a snack. A nurse from VNA is on site weekly to provide screenings and a licensed social worker is onsite regularly. Bayshore Wellness Center, a free family crisis counseling service, is operated out of the church. A grant request was approved for $4,000 to be used toward utility expenses.
