also members of the household of God,
built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets,
with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone."

Introducing one of our new Canterbury Art Show artists!

Lee Jamieson began her art studies at the Arts Students League while working and living in New York City.  After moving to the Jersey Shore in the late 80s, she continued watercolor classes with local artists, including the late Pat Lafferty of Rumson, NJ.

While experimenting with various fields of interest, her botanical style of painting was emerging and taking on a life of its own. Lee began showing her paintings at the Evergreen Gallery in Spring Lake in 1992 and had her first solo show in August 2001. She is currently represented by the Windsor Gallery in Colts Neck, NJ.

When the newly formed Plein Air Painters of Jersey Coast (PAPJC) were painting on location in Spring Lake in 2004, Lee spied the outdoor set ups, the artists at work, and said, "This is for me." Her excitement cooled only slightly when her first Plein air outing was to Allaire State Park in the dead of winter. "My first attempt was quite pathetic: the oil paint was really firm and I was freezing. In fact, my shaking hands could barely hold the brush. I was much better prepared the next time out and I now really look forward to our weekly sessions. Plein air is really a challenge.  The logistics and outdoor gear, the ever-changing light and shadows, editing the scene before you ...  all these elements must be considered. The camaraderie of PAPJC is really terrific and extremely helpful in every way. There's no going back. I am really hooked."

You won't want to miss Lee's beautiful paintings at our art show on Labor Day Weekend.

Please be kind and avoid blocking our neighbors' driveways when parking your car.  Also, please refrain from parking in the driveway on the south side of the church unless handicapped.  Thank you!

Please join all of us at St. George's in celebrating Megan Rizzo and her double lung replacement surgery and recovery!

August 2nd, 4:30-7:30pm
