"Are you the king of the Jews?" asked Pilate.

"You have said so," Jesus replied.

During 2014, the Altar Guild membership was 35. Beginning in 2015, we will be pleased to welcome 4 new members. We have seen the retirement of three tireless members of the Guild in Carol Blesse, Winn Cuffari and Joan Pra Sisto. They will be greatly missed after their many years of service.

*The major purchase for 2014, was our beautiful linens for the Sacristy and Chantry. We were able to replace many of the worn and older linens.

* Easter of 2014, saw a larger and more dramatic Paschal Candle which looked beautiful in the church.

* The Acolyte candles were switched from wax to liquid paraffin.
* With the help of Fr. Roy, Deb Schmidt, Chris Donofrio, Beth Sherrard and Maureen Stilwell, we were able to create a new cerecloth from a supply of previously burned church candles. The cloth will replace the disintegrating cloth on the altar. This will not have to be done again for 50 years.
* Full inventory and cleaning of the Sacristy and Chantry, was completed, in the Fall.
 * Plans were formulated to inventory and donate all serviceable vestments, that are no longer needed. This will be completed in the first quarter of 2015.

Sunday, December 21st, we held our annual Altar Guild Meeting followed by the Greening of the church. Ophelia had very good words for the retiring members of the group and also encouraging words for our new members. Ophelia reiterated how beautiful this Ministry is and then opened the floor for any questions. Following the meeting, we enjoyed delicious sandwiches and holiday treats. Mary Embrey supervised the greening and the church looked beautiful when done. Everyone pitched in and we had a good time.

This is a wonderful group of ladies who love the church and can always be counted on to make St. Georges, inviting to all.
