For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.

Our Family Promise Guests
are returning!
Our Guests return the 22nd of March, and we have nearly all the Chef slots filled, all the Evening Host slots are filled --
but we really need Over Night Hosts!
If you are interested, please sign up in Ralph Hall (by the water fountain) or email Janine Lamm-Roy.  And, if you want to volunteer, but are new to this ministry, please don't hesitate reaching out to Janine.  We provide the minimal training needed to participate, and everyone is welcome!
Additionally, we will need help once again to stock the pantry.  If you are interested in this volunteer activity, please email Janine.  Thanks so much to all our wonderful Volunteers!!
Senior High Youth Group

Tonight, Wednesday March 11th, we will be going to SkyZone for trampolining.  Meet at Ralph Hall by 6pm and we will carpool over to SeaView Square Mall.  Meet there by 6:25 if you cannot make it to Ralph Hall on time.
Please bring enough money to cover jumping ($16 for 60 minutes or $25 for 90 minutes and $2 for SkySocks). St. George's will buy pizza.  Please RSVP to Brenda if you plan to attend!  Invite a friend!
Girls' Friendly Society

Our next session will be in the
Pine Room on THIS Sunday, 3/15/15 from 11:30am - 12:30pm, lunch will be served.
Our theme for the session will be Restraint and Self-Discipline.  As we are in the throes of Lent, we will be participating in our very own St. G's Great GFS Lenten Challenge!
During this week, Saturday, March 7 - Saturday, March 14, the girls are asked to sacrifice a few minutes of their time each day to do something nice for someone else and then report back to the group on their successes, feelings, and thoughts about the challenges they faced.

We ask that they journal their week on the attached document and bring their journal to our meeting on 3/15.  We will go around the room and each of us will share our experiences.

If your daughter is unable to attend the session, she is welcomed to participate in the challenge and just hand in, or email, her journal.

We look forward to seeing you all on 3/15/15!

 Nicole & Christianna

Canterbury Fair Chairs NEEDED

This is Christianna's last year chairing the fair, so she would love if someone could shadow her this year in order to be able to take over next year.

This is the greatest way to get to know all the wonderful parishioners at St. George's and also help raise money for our ministries and Outreach. Please contact Christianna at CTHARVEY2@GMAIL.COM

We are also still looking for Lobster Lunch co-chairs. Please contact Christianna if you are interested, 937-367-3221.

REMINDER: As always, please hold on to your treasures for the June 13th Fair White Elephant!

Music Report

2014 was, once again, a year marked by dedication, commitment and service to the parish.

As always, I remain grateful for the leadership of our two choirs - the St. George's Choir and the Choir of Boys & Girls - and for the outpouring of their spirit and talent, freely given. As your Music Director, I am keenly aware that the success of the St. George's music program hinges on the loyalty and continued active participation of the members of our choirs. Their contribution to this parish has been a continual source of delight and made my nineteen-year tenure a joy.

Choral highlights from 2014 - beyond the choirs' usual Sunday morning leadership role - included Holy Week liturgies in April, services of Evensong in May and November (at which the 50th anniversary of the organ's 1964 installation was recognized) and the recent Family Service and Festival Service of Christmas Lessons & Carols on Christmas Eve 2014.

I would also like to acknowledge "choir moms" - Kathryne Singleton in Spring 2014 and Susan Olson in Fall 2014 - for providing immeasurable aid in creating enthusiasm and excitement for the Choir of Boys & Girls through recruitment efforts and in the organization of field trips and pizza parties.

Likewise, I am grateful for the dedication of our "ringers" and their leader Frances Newell for voluntarily giving of their time and energies to play our 26-bell carillon ... one of only four authentic carillons in New Jersey!   On December 24th, Frances joined over 100 carillonneurs worldwide in commemorating the 1914 Christmas Eve truce in WWI through the pealing of "Silent Night" and other carols at 7:14pm (1914 in military time). The ministry "in the air" of our bells is truly a blessing to the parish and the surrounding community.

I would also like to note that the rewiring of the organ was completed in Summer 2014 which both brings the wiring up to code and moves all components previously in the basement to another location, thereby reducing any problems caused by future flooding such as that of SuperStorm Sandy in October 2012. The cost of these improvements was covered by the church's post-Sandy insurance claim.

I am honored to serve as your Music Director, and am ever thankful for the support of the choirs, clergy and parishioners to the musical life of this church.

Respectfully submitted,

Philip J. Leininger, Music Director
