Come one, Come All!
Please plan to join us this
Friday, May 2nd from 7:00pm to 9:00pm for delicious hors d'oeuvres from Brennan's, beverages featuring wine, beer and soft drinks. 

The evening will include a brief presentation and discussion about the 1874 Society. We would also like to extend an invitation and  thanks to our current members who have enabled the society to accomplish much for the parish
of St George's. 

It's easy to become a member, the Society needs you, and it will be a fun party! RSVP here

 


Solemn Communion Celebration!
This Sunday at the 10am Mass, come celebrate with fourteen of St. George's children as they participate in their Solemn Communion Ceremony. Cake afterwards in Ralph Hall!

 Order forms will be available in Ralph Hall and in Sunday's bulletin.  Orders are due Sunday, May 4th and pick up will be after the Services on Sunday, May 11th... Mother's Day! 

 


 
Our Family Promise guests are returning!
Pasta and Sauce
This Sunday, May 4th, seeking volunteers!!!!  

 

Our Family Promise guests will arrive this Sunday, May 4th and we have many slots still available!  Won't you please consider helping?  We are in need of the following:

 

Dinner  on Monday, Tuesday and Saturday

Evening Hosts Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 

Overnight Hosts on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday 

 

We are also in need of assistance stocking the kitchen with snacks, juice, milk, and sandwich items.  Cereal and bagels, too.  

 

Lastly, we will have three children who are need of diapers for the week: size 5; size 3; size 3/4.  If you are able to help in any way, please email Janine Roy (jlammroy@me.com) or see the sign up sheet in Ralph Hall.  Thanks so much to our early volunteers, too!!!!

 

 




 

Kentucky Derby Party

Which three-year-old thoroughbred will claim the garland of roses and a spot in racing history? Savor the moment and the most exciting two minutes in sports and have a heart-thomping, hoof-stomping good time with your friends from 

St. George's-by-the-River!!!

 

To be held on Saturday, May 3rd, 2014

At 5:30 o'clock p.m.

 

Post time is 6:15 p.m. but get there early to make some friendly bets!!! Quench your thirst with some frosty mint juleps to be served by the race track!

After the races, we will have a lavish Southern-style potluck supper with Virginia ham, fried chicken, biscuits, and pecan pies, for starters!

The Canterbury Fair is 6 weeks away!

Please hold onto "treasurers" for our White Elephant sale and remember that we are also selling new and gently used children's clothing again this year.Silent Auction needs your help! We are in need of donations; boats, cars, bikes, vacation homes, art work, antiques, even services like tennis lessons or sailing lessons are all fabulous for the Auction. We are still looking for committee members if you have any time before the Fair it would be appreciated!
