St. George's Knitters

Greetings to all!   Please save the date of Sunday April 27 (Sunday after Easter Day).   We will have a Knitters' Social on that date and I hope to see many of you then.   We continue to collect your knitted donations of hats, scarves..... to be sent on to the Seamen's Church Institute for its Christmas-at-Sea Program.

After Easter we will ship a box of our Lenten knitted donations for the seamen.   So far in 2014 we have collected a dozen items and with your continued help we may be able to double that number.

Please leave any completed work in the Parish Office or bring them to our gathering on April 27th.

Blessings to you all and keep up the good work!

Love Janet Whitman

Canterbury Fair:
June 14th
Dear Friends,
The date for the Canterbury Fair, is rapidly approaching. We are still in need of 4-5 volunteers to help with the Silent Auction. We need a couple of people to solicit new donations and a couple of people to follow up with our longtime donors to see if they are willing to donate once again.  Any parishioner who is able to donate a good or service to the Fair is invited to do so. In the past, people have donated tickets, lessons, boats, and even vacation homes! Anything large or small is appreciated.

As we know, the Canterbury Fair requires a lot of work from a lot of people. Without enough volunteers, we wonder if we should skip the Fair this year. If you are able to help with the Silent Auction, please contact Chairwoman, Christianna Harvey ASAP.  She can be reached at Ctharvey2@gmail.com or at (937) 367-3221. Thanks for considering it.

Lenten Food Drive

For Lunch Break in Red Bank

Through April 17th - 8 Days Remaining!

Thank you everyone for all of your donations to date!

Did you know that Lunch Break serves between 4,000 and 5,000 meals every month including hot breakfasts on Saturday.  They hand out 1,600 to 2,000 bags of emergency food each month.  In 2013 they distributed almost 400,000 pounds of food to our community members in need. Given the amount of food they hand out, they need a steady supply coming in.

Lunch Break Food Pantry Wish List (Non-Perishable): canned or dry beans; canned fruits, vegetable, soups, stews, chili, tuna fish, chicken; cereals; peanut butter and jelly; pasta and sauces; macaroni and cheese, mashed potato and rice mixes; coffee, tea, juices; mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, vegetable cooking oil; salad dressings; salt, pepper; apple sauce, pudding, snacks; sugar, flour.

There are receptacles in Ralph Hall and the Narthex for the food deposits.
