From Bishop Steven Charleston:

"You are here for a reason, a reason that is defined not only by the work you do, but by the life you lead. You are a connecting point for the sacred, a living channel through which streams of grace flow, flow out into the world into the reality of the people you meet, into the world you help to create simply by your presence. You are a signal, a messenger who lives the message, who embodies the meaning of the holy in every choice you make. You are a healer, a source of nurture and wholeness, here for a reason, a reason that restores the bridge of hope."

Lenten Food Drive

For Lunch Break in Red Bank

Through April 17th - 16 Days Remaining!

Thank you everyone for all of your donations to date!

Did you know that Lunch Break serves between 4,000 and 5,000 meals every month including hot breakfasts on Saturday.  They hand out 1,600 to 2,000 bags of emergency food each month.  In 2013 they distributed almost 400,000 pounds of food to our community members in need. Given the amount of food they hand out, they need a steady supply coming in.

Lunch Break Food Pantry Wish List (Non-Perishable): canned or dry beans; canned fruits, vegetable, soups, stews, chili, tuna fish, chicken; cereals; peanut butter and jelly; pasta and sauces; macaroni and cheese, mashed potato and rice mixes; coffee, tea, juices; mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, vegetable cooking oil; salad dressings; salt, pepper; apple sauce, pudding, snacks; sugar, flour.

There are receptacles in Ralph Hall and the Narthex for the food deposits.

Girls Friendly Society

The meeting of the Girls Friendly Society will be in the

Pine Room on this Sunday, 4/6/14 from 11:15pm - 12:45pm, lunch will be served.

Our theme for the session will be Honor and Courage.  We will be discussing the honor and courage of Jesus during the final days of Lent, leading up to his death and Resurrection.  And for our activity, we will be celebrating Easter by dying eggs and baking Easter bread!

We are asking that each girl please bring a round of dough and a dozen hard

boiled eggs.  We will dye the eggs and bake the bread at church.  The bread takes about an hour to bake which would bring us to about 12:45 end time (allowing 30 minutes for dyeing and braiding dough).  If you'd like to bring the dough home to bake and leave the session earlier, you can feel free to do that.

If there are a few Moms or others that can stay and help out, that would be greatly appreciated.

We look forward to seeing you all on 4/6/14!

Nicole & Dianne
