Happy New Year! July 1st marked a new fiscal year for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA). It has been another banner year for us capped off with an exciting month of June.
Read more below about Habitat LA getting settled in at our new headquarters in Bellflower and celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Power Women Power Tools! We were also named the largest non-profit Residential Developer in Los Angeles County by The Los Angeles Business Journal.
|
|
This year marked the 10th Anniversary of our annual pink event! More than 200 power women and 20 Habitat LA partner homeowners began constructing four more homes on our Magnolia Avenue site in Lynwood. Our Power Women were fortunate to hear from single mom and partner homeowner, Toshia Williams. She impressed attendees by sharing her journey with Habitat, which includes becoming the first Habitat LA partner homeowner to fully pay off her mortgage. Click HERE to see more photos from the day.

HABITAT LA NAMED LARGEST NON-PROFIT RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPER
| |
The Los Angeles Business Journal named Habitat LA the largest non-profit Residential Developer in Los Angeles County in its Book of Lists for 2014. The past several years have been a challenge for residential developers, especially non-profit builders. All of us at Habitat LA are pleased that our home production has grown despite these tough times. Thank you to our staff, volunteers and visionary board for making it happen!
Some Habitat LA highlights from the Book of Lists for 2014:
* Habitat LA is the 9th Largest Residential Developer overall - topping several large companies such as Olson, AEG, Beazer and Brookfield. * Habitat LA is the ONLY company in the Top 25 with a female President/CEO. * Habitat LA has built the 2nd most "affordable homes" in the $0 - $300,000 price range. * Habitat LA is one of only two non-profit organizations listed.
