Davis Street Water Main and Sewer Replacement Project

Over the next ten weeks, the City of Evanston will be contracting Water Main and Sewer Replacement work on Davis Street between Benson Avenue and Hinman Avenue. This project involves replacement of the existing water main with a new 24" Ductile Iron Pipe between Benson and Hinman. The combined sewer will be replaced with 24" concrete pipe from Orrington to Hinman.

Construction began the week of June 3rd, with the entire project expected to be fully completed by the end of July. For Complete details, click here. Please contact Sat Nagar, Senior Engineer, at (847) - 448- 4311 with any questions.

Davis St. CTA Viaduct Work

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) has already started conducting repair work on the Davis St. CTA viaduct. The area affected will be Davis Street, between Benson Ave. and Elmwood Ave. The work includes repairs to the north and south abutments of the CTA viaduct over Davis St. and there will be some noise while the work is being performed.

Work will run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays through approximately June 10. During work hours, vehicle traffic will be maintained. Parking on Davis Street will be restricted on either side of the viaduct's abutment under repair. Sidewalk access will be narrow and may be intermittently redirected during material handling.

Questions or concerns can be directed to Ryan Mouw, CTA Government and Community Relations, Senior Government Officer, at (312) 681-2751 or at rmouw@transitchicago.com
