  • Tonight at 7:30pm - Free concert at The Music Institute of Chicago, Nichols Concert Hall, 1490 Chicago Ave! Attend the Generation Next Young Composer's Competition. The concert program includes things I'd like to have for string quartet by first place winner Zara Ali; Negotiation of the Winds for oboe, clarinet, and bassoon by second place winner Morgan Harry Kane; and Metamorphosis, a piano solo by third place winner Robert Didier.     
  • Experience Kashmir at 27 Live, 1012 Church, Tonight! A true Led Zeppelin experience, starts at 9pm! Purchase tickets in advance here or at the door for $10. Must be 21+.
  • DJ Teebot will be making an appearance tonight at Prairie Moon Restaurant, 1502 Sherman Ave. at 10pm. Stay for dinner, drinks and old school hip hop and funky beats. Enjoy $4 pints of Founder's Dry Hopped Pale Ale and $4 bottles of All Day IPA!
  • Join the The Celtic Knot  on Saturday at 9:30pm for a performance by Tim O'Shea and friends!  Come on by for some dinner, drinks and music at 626 Church St.  
    • Head back to The Celtic Knot on Sunday, March 10 from 5 - 8 pm, local Folk musicians Curt Nilsson & Jill Horwitz will be performing!
  • Pete Miller's at 1557 Sherman Ave. hosts Corky McClerkin, Friday & Saturday 8pm-12am and on Sunday 5-9pm.
  • Tommy Nevin's Pub, 1415 Sherman Ave. hosts weekly Irish jams with the John Williams Irish Sessions from 3-6pm on Sunday
  • The Rhythm Room Bar & Bistro, located inside the Century Theatres offers live jazz, featuring pianist John Zamojcin on Friday and Saturday from 7-11pm.
  • Stop in to World of Beer at 1601 Sherman Ave. for a delicious craft beer and live tunes from Gina Clocksen on Friday at 8pm - midnight, and then return on Saturday night for The Catch.

The Woman's Club of Evanston's 62nd annual benefit show "Laughter in the Key of WCE," running through March 16 at the WCE's Clubhouse located at 1702 Chicago Ave., this year benefits the Institute for Therapy through the Arts, a division of the Music Institute of Chicago.   

  

Piven Theatre Workshop presents: Troublemakers: Stories of Mistakes & Consequences

March 11th-15th the advanced youth ensemble will share three stories of youthful mistakes and what happens next. The show is appropriate for all audiences and highly recommended for our youth students. In addition to sharing adapted stories, at each performance, an improv set featuring a rotating cast from the ensemble. Visit here for the performance schedule.

Downtown Evanston provides marketing and management services to the downtown Evanston Illinois district and is a 501(c) (6) non-profit corporation.  The district that Downtown Evanston is responsible for is the Special Service Area 4 (SSA4), Illinois' equivalent of a Business Improvement District (BID). Established in 1987,  Downtown Evanston is governed by a Board of Directors and works in partnership with the city of Evanston.
