2013 marks the 150th anniversary of Evanston's founding. In honor
of Evanston's legacy of civic engagement, Volunteer Evanston encourages community members to celebrate by taking a pledge to help meet the community's goal of reaching 150,000 volunteer hours in 2013.

Maier, who  worked as a nanny in Chicago's North Shore suburbs, took more than 100,000 black and white photographs spanning decades. Since her death in 2009, her evocative pictures have been recognized internationally as those of a gifted photographer. Meet Cahan and Williams, the authors of Vivian Maier: Out of the Shadows, as they discuss their acclaimed book.
