Gift CardThe Downtown Evanston gift card which is accepted at 140 downtown businesses is now available for purchase online! This new online system simplifies the process of purchasing the popular card and makes it even easier for out-of-town friends and family to purchase the Downtown Evanston gift card for Students, Friends, Family, Clients, etc. who live and work in and around Evanston. The card can still be purchased in person at the Downtown Evanston office at 820 Davis St., Suite 151 and at First Bank & Trust at 820 Church St.

Shop and dine in downtown Evanston during the holidays and take advantage of FREE parking in the three main garages! Free parking is available 5pm - Midnight, Monday - Friday and all day Saturdays and Sundays from November 22 - January 1st!


 

Winter Library Book Sale at the Evanston Public Library - Nov. 30 - Dec. 2 

The Evanston Public Library will host its Winter Book Sale on Friday, November 30 through Sunday, December 2 in the third floor Book Sale Room of the Main Library located at 1703 Orrington Avenue. The sale features hundreds of items in great condition that would make wonderful holiday gifts. If you would like to get a sneak-peek and select books before the doors open to the general public, the Special Preview Sale will be held on Friday, November 30 from 10 a.m. - noon; admission is $5 per person.

 

 

 

 

 

Starting Your Own Business - For Teens Workshop - Dec. 1, 3-4pm 

This program is for teens who have always wanted to have their own business. Learn the basics of getting a business started from budgeting to marketing and everything else to get your dream of the ground. Please register online here or in person by calling 847-448-8625.

 

 

See Santa at the Downtown Evanston Visitor Information Center in December! 

Bring the kids or the whole family to see Santa on Saturdays, December 1, 8 & 15! Santa will be making 3 special trips to the Downtown Evanston Visitor Information Center at 820 Davis St., Suite 151 from noon - 4pm on Saturdays, December 1, 8 & 15.

 

This is a FREE event! 

 

Visit with Santa and complete your holiday shopping in one trip! Purchase the Downtown Evanston gift card on Saturdays before, during or after visiting with Santa. The Downtown Evanston gift card can be preloaded with any amount between $5 and $500 and can be used at over 140 restaurants, retailers, hotels and special attractions in the downtown! Cards can also be purchased between 9am and 5pm, Monday - Friday at the Downtown Evanston Visitor Center and at First Bank & Trust at 820 Church St., Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm and Saturdays, 8am - 1:30pm, as well as online here!

Share your views on dining out in Evanston 

Do you enjoy dining out in downtown Evanston? Is there anything you would change about the restaurant scene? Share your thoughts and opinions through a brief survey from a group of students at the Kellogg School of Management working on a class project studying late night dining and drinking perceptions and habits. The survey takes no more than 5 to 7 minutes to complete. Your participation is greatly appreciated and if you choose to, you will be entered into a raffle for 1 of 8 $25 downtown Evanston gift cards. All responses will be analyzed anonymously and the only personal information collected will be voluntary and shall be used only for contacting you for the raffle results. Holiday Entertaining 101: A Host's Guide to Magnificent Mains Whole Foods Market   Whole Foods logo  

Tuesday, December 4th 7-8:30 pm, $15

Hosting can be hard! Get help from our stellar chef and butcher, Associate Meat Team Leader Edie! Learn about different cuts and basic cooking methods for beef, lamb, pork, and poultry. Then we'll head upstairs to the cooking classroom to demonstrate (and taste!) recipes.

Learn to: brine poultry, stuff a crown rack of lamb, cook and dress a prime rib, roast pork to perfection.

 

Gingerbread House Workshop

Saturday, December 8th 12-3pm, $19.99 for the frosted gingerbread house, candies are complimentary.

Purchase a gingerbread house in our Bakery, then head upstairs to the cooking classroom to decorate! We'll bring the candies and take care of the clean up!
