Music of the Month
February is LOVE month! We will listen to music with "love" in the lyrics. We will also learn and perform the "LOVE" dance!

Fitness Focus
Leap Day is coming! We will incorporate leaps into all dance styles this month. Leaving one foot and landing on the other is a leap! Feel free to try this at home.

Choosy Challenge
Choosy Says...It's heart month - Be heart smart! We will learn how to be good to our heart with nutrition and exercise.
Photo Contest
Post a photo on any SIM social media of your Lovely Leap. The photo with the most combined likes will win a SIM cami. You can also email us your photo to starsinmotion@yahoo.com.

Weather Closings
We follow DeSoto County Schools weather closing policy. If DCS is closed, or closes early, so will SIM. For weekend or school holiday bad weather, we will post on social media and send an email. 

February is heart month! Time to think about heart health and cardiovascular exercise.  We will offer several events this month for parents to increase activity. Keep an eye on our Facebook page and website as we share details. Cardio can be fun! Especially when the whole family is working out together. Take a walk, ride bikes, play in the park... So many choices! This is also a good time to screen for high cholesterol and check blood pressure. 
Dancing For Our Stars
The Baddour Center, a residential community for adults with intellectual disabilities, is holding its 2nd annual Dancing For Our Stars fundraising event. Miss Jill will once again be dancing with local chef John Woods and needs your "votes"! Each dollar donated counts as one vote. this is a fun event and a great cause. The event will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at First Choice Catering, 5905 Scott Blvd. in Horn Lake, Miss. Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased online or by calling Jenny Hurt at 662-366-6930.

Junior Prep, Junior Dance and Senior Dance will perform in both shows. Tickets will go on sale April 2.
Community
We will perform at Baptist Healthcare Center on Sunday, February 14, 2:00pm. Please do not arrive prior to 1:55. Dancers should wear their SIM performance tank and jeans with tennis shoes. Feel free to bring a few Valentine cards to pass out.  We are not allowed to bring candy. This is a very casual performance and intended to entertain the residents. You may not get the best view of your dancer. Due to space this is not a good time to invite family and friends to watch.
