Weather Closings
We follow DeSoto County Schools weather closing policy. If DCS is closed, or closes early, so will SIM. For weekend or school holiday bad weather, we will post on social media and send an email. 
Class Features
Music of the Month
January is a great month for Jazz. We will listen to all kinds of jazz music, from big band to R&B, and discover fun facts about musical legends of that era. 

Fitness Focus
Jumping January! We will look at how to jump higher, hold good form and increase our stamina with various jumps this month. 

Choosy Challenge
Choosy Says...Be a good friend. Let's start the new year by showing good friendship to our dance mates and others. 
Photo Contest
Post a photo on any SIM social media of your best Flex Trick. the photo with the most combined likes will win a SIM cami. You can also email us your photo to starsinmotion@yahoo.com. 
Shop SIM
Shop at SIM for lots of great gift ideas! We offer gift certificates for fitness classes as well as a wide variety of apparel and gifts perfect for the dancer in your life! We also create custom headbands and hats for your Gatsby/Derby party needs.
We've recently updated our website. In the near future, you will be able to sign in for fitness class and purchase dancewear from our page. Be sure to visit www.starsinmotion.com and sign up for the eNews and updates. Click on the sign up button and follow the prompts. Click on the SIM eNews list and the Ballet DeSoto list. You'll receive all SIM info right to your inbox!

A fresh start, new skills to learn, refreshed and motivated to increase our abilities! Hopefully everyone had a very blessed time with family and friends, and maybe a bit of rest as well! Please read and save the eNews each month so that you can stay up to date. 
DeSoto's Best Voting
Voting ends Jan 7! You can vote once per day, per email address.  We would greatly appreciate your vote for Best Dance School (we are listed twice, please click the "Stars In Motion" tab), Best Yoga Class, Best Gift Shop, and Best Shoes! We are honored to have been nominated and will be thrilled to be selected BEST! 
ShowCase 2016 (date change)
Please make a note of a date change for our end of year ShowCase. Due to scheduling conflicts with the theater, we have moved our ShowCase to May 13. We will have 2 shows, Cast 1 at 2:00pm and Cast 2 at 6:00pm. Preschool and Elementary Dance classes will perform in one show while Junior Prep, Junior Dance and Senior Dance will perform in both shows. The casts will be listed in the Feb eNews.
Community
We will perform at Baptist Healthcare Center on Sunday, February 14, 2:00pm. Dancers should wear their SIM performance tee and jeans with tennis shoes. Feel free to bring a few Valentine cards to pass out.  We are not allowed to bring candy. 
Fitness Classes at SIM
January Fitness Challenge: attend 8 classes in January (any class, any SIM location) and be entered in a drawing for a FREE 5 class card! Also - bring a first time friend for free this month!
