Holiday Closing
SIM will be closed December 21 - January 3 for the Christmas Holiday. Classes will resume on Monday, Jan 4. Enjoy this time with family and friends! 
Class Features
Music of the Month
We certainly can't pass up the once a year opportunity to dance to Christmas songs! We will use a wide variety of holiday tunes from every genre in our classes this month. 

Fitness Focus
Our Fitness Focus for December is "warming up". Always, but especially with cold weather coming our way, it is extremely important to warm up before we do any kind of activity. 

Choosy Challenge
Choosy Says...Special Treats for Special Occasions. We can have special treats once in a while. But it is probably not a good choice to have holiday sweets every day. Balance sugary snacks with an extra helping of raw veggies and whole grains. Find ways to make baked goods a bit healthier, like replacing cream cheese with Greek yogurt or oil with almond milk or fresh fruit juice. 
Shop Across DC
Stars In Motion will participate in Shop Across DeSoto County Dec 11-12. Participating shops will offer deep discounts and in store specials with proceeds from wristband sales going to Foster Care Closet.

A huge Thank You to all our dancers who participated in Ballet DeSoto's "The Nutcracker Goes To Comic Con", everyone was amazing! And many thanks to our fabulous audiences, too! It's hard to believe the first half of Season 19 has already passed by! We have already begun to learn new skills and choreography for the May Showcase. We will begin planning now for parent Demonstration Week to be held April 4-7. We have a few spaces left in most of our classes; the deadline to register new students to begin in January is December 19. So be sure to tell any friends who may want to join! Your referrals are always appreciated. 
Shop SIM
Shop at SIM for lots of great gift ideas! We offer gift certificates for fitness classes as well as a wide variety of apparel and gifts perfect for the dancer in your life! We also create custom headbands and hats for your Gatsby/Derby party needs.
DeSoto's Best Voting
The official voting period begins Dec 7 and hopefully we have been nominated in several categories! We will know very soon! Be sure to vote for your favorites every day during the voting period. 
Christmas Parties
Christmas parties will take place during your child's regular dance class the week of December 14-19. You may bring a dish to share or an individually wrapped treat to take home. And just to be fancy, let's have the dancers dress in their best party attire. We will have tables and chairs and a buffet table. The children love to exchange gifts. This year, lets exchange socks! It's a Sassy Santa Sock Swap!
Community
There are plenty of opportunities to help others this season. We will have an Angel Tree in the lobby Dec 6-12. Please consider taking an angel from the tree and returning the wrapped gift and angel tag during your class Christmas party. We will again partner with DeSoto Grace to help bring a smile to our neighbors in need.
